The Boston Celtics tied the NBA Finals at one game apiece behind a triple-double from Rajon Rondo and an NBA record eight three-pointers for Ray Allen. The C’s 103-94 victory shifts homecourt advantage to Boston. And now the series is over. Don’t believe me? Ask Paul Pierce. With the Celtics leading 97-90 in the fourth quarter Pierce told some courtside fans “We ain’t coming back to LA.” This time Paul will have to claim his mouth was hacked and not his Twitter account because the cameras caught him in the act.

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers start the NBA Finals on Thursday which means it’s time for local writers to diss the opposing city while displaying their wit. Ted Green of the LA Times failed on both fronts. He got off a few lame Beantown jokes but his standout line came in a reference to the 2000 stabbing of Paul Pierce. The joke has since been deleted.

Green’s unedited humor looked like this:

“Pierce’s idea of a fun night is going clubbing and getting stabbed. Good times!”

The Times scrubbed the bad joke and inserted this explanation in its place:

[For the record: An earlier version of this post contained an inappropriate comment about Pierce relating to an incident in 2000 in which he was stabbed repeatedly. That comment should not have been published and has been removed.]

Green’s joke was idiotic and had no business being published but it’s hardly the worst thing Pierce has seen/read about him being stabbed. During the 2002 Eastern Conference Finals some New Jersey Nets fans held up a sign that read “Will Someone Please Stab Paul Pierce!” This was in response to Celtics fans sporting white “wife beater” tank tops with the number five and Kidd written on them. Now those were good times.(!)

Somebody allegedly hacked Paul Pierce’s Twitter account shortly after the Celtics took a 2-0 lead over the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. The impostor tweeted “Anyone got a BROOM?” which sounded like a take-off of Pierce’s comments immediately following Boston’s 95-92 victory.

“We gonna try to close this out in two games. Y’all hear me? We’re coming home to close it out.”

Closing it out in two games is the same thing as saying it’s going to be a sweep. But in this day and age, it’s far worse to type something on Twitter than to actually say it on live television.

The Boston Celtics lead the Orlando Magic and Eastern Conference Finals 2-0 after smothering the defending Conference champions twice on their home floor. I’m not saying the series is over but Orlando should start dusting off their fishing gear.

One person willing to say the series is over is whoever hacked Paul Pierce’s Twitter account. The friend hacker posted “Anybody got a BROOM?” on Pierce’s verified page, leading to Dwight Howard responding to the fake tweet.

Reporters at Dwight Howard’s postgame press conference asked him about Pierce’s comments without knowing that Paul’s Twitter account had been hacked. Howard sounded depressed but tried to keep a positive tone.

I think the old saying “There’s always next year” is the most applicable.

Good thing facials don’t hurt an NBA player’s value on the open market because Chris Bosh would be worthless next summer after Paul Pierce dunked on him Friday. The Celtics handled the Raptors 116-103 to make matters worse for the facialized Bosh.

Wow.. A dunked on-knee to the nuts combo. Bob Saget just wet his pants.

The U.S. Olympic basketball team is in Las Vegas getting ready for a run at the gold while the Boston Celtics are living it up. KG, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Sam Cassell and Rajon Rondo put their Sin City partying on pause to check out Manny Pacquiao vs. David Diaz. As you can hear in the video one of Pacman’s dreams was to meet Kevin Garnett, and the two share a mutual respect for one another.

People were worried that Manny Pacquiao would lose some speed when he moved up to 135 lbs. I have some bad news for his competition.. He didn’t. Pacquiao looked just as fast and he says he’s even stronger. David Diaz’s face and the ring canvas agree.

The Boston Celtic’s signing of Kevin Garnett was the biggest move of the NBA offseason. The three headed, championship hungry monster of Garnett, Pierce, and Allen is a nice base, but is it enough to get out of the East? You know the big three are gonna show up every night (barring injury), but what about the rest of the cast? Eddie House, James Posey, Scot Pollard, and Brian Scalibrine are the other vets on the team, unproven Rajon Rondo’s gonna be in charge of the offense, rookies Glen Davis, Jackie Manuel, and Brandon Wallace can’t be counted on yet, and, there always Doc.

Too bad coach doesn’t handle the games like he does his practices. Doc’s seat is gonna get hot quick if the Celts get off to a slow start… Even more so because of Larry Brown circling the arena.
