Michael Vick is a backup quarterback in Philadelphia and Vernon Davis is the starting tight end in San Francisco so it makes perfect sense for them to hook up in Washington D.C. Saturday for an NFL Draft party. The Atlanta Falcons made Vick the overall number one pick in 2001. The Niners chose Davis sixth overall in 2006. Why they’re having a draft party in 2010 is anybody’s guess.

The Baltimore Ravens are second in the AFC North with a 3-3 record, but this weekend they’ll be partying like they’re the undefeated Tennessee Titans. Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Team Sizzle Worldwide are throwing “The most luxurious party experience to ever hit Baltimore” and they have a website which means their claim has to be true.

I could kinda understand throwing a three-day party with white tigers if the Ravens had a bye week, but they play the Oakland Raiders on Sunday Oct. 26. Even NBA party hound Kwame Brown thinks Suggs is using bad timing. If the Raiders win on Sunday there’s no doubt in my mind that the party is the reason why.

Linebacker Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers is joining Tom Brady on the sidelines after telling the team he’s going to undergo season ending knee surgery. Merriman played with two torn ligaments in his left knee in the season opener, but said he didn’t feel right and now he’s shutting it down. I wonder if he still had his party?

Damn… I feel bad for Lights Out, but what about all of the party goers? When Merriman throws a party it’s the shit.

Gotta love Hollywood.. If you watched until the end you got to see some chick from Wildin’ Out season four claiming to be a star. Somebody needs to pull ‘er to the side, sit her down, and let her know that playing charades on MTV does not a star one make.

If there’s a bright spot in the middle of the Merriman injury storm it’s that he gets to work on his Madden game now.

Now that Chris Henry’s a former Cincinnati Bengal, and will probably be suspended from the NFL, he has plenty of time to party and rebuild New Orleans.. On second thought, maybe he should hold off on the parties and just concentrate on N.O. Anybody else find it funny that Henry wants to rebuild the Big Easy while he’s tearing down Cincinnati? What’s next, the Olsen twins feeding the homeless? And somebody might wanna tell Chris (over the phone or by email.. or at least out of arm’s length and with no bottles present) that his friend Rudi Johnson spells his name R-u-d-i not Rudy. He’ll probably want to invest in spellcheck before he starts penning his “I’m sorry” letters to Roger Goodell.

Super Bowl XLII (42) will be played on February 3rd but the main attraction of the weekend will be on February 2nd. Playboy magazine will have their annual Super Bowl party at the Rawhide Pavillion. When I hear Rawhide, I picture playmates running around in cowgirl hats and chaps. That’s it. Just hats and chaps… Leave it to Donna Tavoso, division vice president of creative projects and special services for Playboy, to rain on my parade.

Donna Tavoso, who is part of the Playboy team putting on the super-exclusive Feb. 2 fete, said the theme of the party is being kept under wraps. But it definitely will not be Western.

“We looked at over 65 venues in area and we liked the freedom that the (Rawhide) space gave us. It was a raw space that gave us a blank pallete to work from . . . and the flexibility to be creative to come up with a theme.”

“We bring together what the brand represents, the fun and excitement of the game along with celebrities, athletes and beautiful women. We wrap it all up with a sexy fun theme, great food and great drinks. It’s the whole package of living the great life.”

From the looks of things, Donna and crew have their work cut out for them. I can’t see the NFL party crowd line dancing to Achy Breaky Heart. Of course, if the partygoers aren’t having fun, there’s always the petting zoo or a shotgun wedding.

No plans for New Year’s Eve? Well you got something to do now. You’re partying with Kwame Brown. That’s right, you get the chance to drop the ball with the man that’s made a career of dropping the ball..I’ll show up if these two things are guaranteed to happen 1) Kwame promises to bring his lesbian bar buddies and 2) this guy shows up and drops a cake on Kwame. I wonder what the boss Kobe Bryant is gonna say when he finds out the team is doing all of this partying.
