People out there knock sideline reporters for having a meaningless job that adds very little to the overall production value of a game. This is true if you’re talking about somebody like Chris Myers but I’ll take an Erin Andrews or Jenn Brown distraction anytime.

What folks don’t give sideline reporters credit for is their toughness in the face of danger. Take Pam Oliver in today’s Cowboys-Texans game. Ms. Oliver was standing on the sideline, looking good and minding her business, when Cowboys running back Marion Barber knocked a kicking net onto her after a run out of bounds. You can see Pam holding her head but she didn’t miss a down because she’s a trooper. I would’ve started the bounty on Barber if something had happened to Pam and her bubble.

This is our final tribute to Pam Oliver of the 2010 NFL Playoffs so there’s a little extra something. Pam looks great on the sidelines of the Vikings-Saints NFC Championship game, but she was stunning in her interview with Brett Favre. Blue must be her color.

Pam Oliver has long been a favorite of YBB. Watching the NFL on Fox without her on the sideline takes away from the overall experience. Here’s a picture of her at the Green Bay Packers-Arizona Cardinals Wildcard Playoff game. She looks good as always.

Erin Andrews is the most popular female sideline reporter in the history of sports due to her great looks and the number of horny men with an internet connection. The affect she has on guys is incredible. Coaches grab her and athletes get flustered, but it hasn’t inflated her ego.

While Erin Andrews is the undisputed Queen of sideline reporters/sports broadcasters that doesn’t make her the number one pick in the black community. Pam Oliver is the most discussed black female reporter at my barbershop, and Danyelle Sargent was incredible before she met her demise. I’ll leave it up to you though, who is the black equivalent of Erin Andrews?

Pam Oliver- Pam is a staple of the NFL on Fox. She was instantly moved to legendary status when the infamous “Pam in dem jeans” photo surfaced on the ‘net.

Lisa Salters- At 5’2″ Lisa Salters holds the distinction of being the shortest woman to ever play for the Penn State women’s basketball team. Size doesn’t matter.

Stephanie Ready- Probably the most interesting woman in the group. Stephanie is the first woman to coach in a men’s professional league, has worked the sidelines for the Charlotte Bobcats and TNT, and will sell you a house on the side.

Sage Steele- I don’t catch to much of ESPN First Take but I haven’t been seeing Sage Steele lately? Norby, don’t make me come up there.

Reischea Canidate- Reischea is the sleeper in the group. She’s sexy as hell but her talent is being wasted on ESPNNews. More people would be jockin her if she had a higher profile.


Danyelle Sargent- A personal favorite here at YBB. We miss her presence on ESPNNews. How long does a sista have to pay for one SMALL mistake?

The female body is a beautiful object that should be held up and glorified. It could never receive enough praise. Amanda Beard recently joined the list of athletes to pose nude for Playboy, and hopefully more follow her. Here’s the women from the sports world that the magazine should be trying to land:

Anna Kournikova: She owes us. We supported her on her looks alone, and then we continued to support her when we knew she couldn’t play. She’s essentially the Russian, tennis playing, Paris Hilton.. Trust us Anna, the magazine is the classier route.

Serena and Venus Williams: I know what you’re thinking but no… Something along the lines of them getting undressed in the locker room, and then taking to the court to pose with the rackets or in the umpire’s chair. Now back to your idea…

Erin Andrews: A sexy, former cheerleader, that had the internet and college baseball teams goin nuts is a no brainer. She has the classic bunny look and Mike Gillespie Sr. says she’s a solid 9 1/2 binoculars in his book.

Danica Patrick: She’s cute, fiesty, and fast. I can see her on the cover unzipping her fire retardant jumpsuit and inside the mag rockin nothing but her helmet. I can also see her stomping around and then shoving the photographer if she doesn’t like the pictures.

Pam Oliver: The pic doesn’t do her justice, but I didn’t want to link to the you tube clip of her in dem jeans. If she ever poses for the magazine good luck getting a copy before Joe Buck buys them all.
