Somebody forgot to send me the memo or maybe I’m not on the list at all, but it looks like Oakland Raiders overalls are what’s up for Fall 2010. Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings tweeted a pic of his via @BLKICE3 and University of Miami quarterback Jacory Harris showed his back to school Raiders ‘ralls at @JacoryHarris12. Shaq should be showing up in a pair in three, two, one.

Now that most of your food has digested and the tryptophan has worn off it’s time to focus on getting gifts for the special people in your life. We’ve all made the mistake of giving somebody a present that they didn’t want or care about and dealt with this uncomfortable exchange:

Once upon a time there was a video of a kid opening a Christmas present to find a Todd Marinovich jersey. His mom says “He’s gonna be a player” although Todd had been benched for the season and never played in the NFL again. As much as things change they stay the same. Fast-forward to 2009 and Jamarcus Russell jersey is the new Todd Marinovich.

The jersey isn’t the worst Jamarcus Russell related gift out there. You can pay $9.95 for a 437-word article about him,get a JaMarcus Russell silver coin,or you can tell the person you planned on buying something with Russell’s name on it that you threw the money out of a car window while traveling 65 miles per hour. Not getting the gift is just as valuable and it helps whoever finds the money. It’s a win-win.

The Baltimore Ravens are second in the AFC North with a 3-3 record, but this weekend they’ll be partying like they’re the undefeated Tennessee Titans. Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Team Sizzle Worldwide are throwing “The most luxurious party experience to ever hit Baltimore” and they have a website which means their claim has to be true.

I could kinda understand throwing a three-day party with white tigers if the Ravens had a bye week, but they play the Oakland Raiders on Sunday Oct. 26. Even NBA party hound Kwame Brown thinks Suggs is using bad timing. If the Raiders win on Sunday there’s no doubt in my mind that the party is the reason why.

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was found unconscious Monday morning in Las Vegas, the victim of a robbery and beating. He was taken to Sunrise Medical Center where he was treated for a fractured orbital bone and is listed in fair condition.

From Fox5 in Las Vegas:

NFL wide receiver Javon Walker was the victim of an apparent early morning robbery, according to Metro police.

Walker was found unconscious at about 7:19 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Koval Lane and Winnick Avenue, officers said.

Police said Walker had significant injuries.

We’ll have to wait for more information but it sounds like a case of some haters on the loose. Javon was spotted partying hard all weekend and somebody probably targeted him. That’s f’d up. A guy can’t spend his $55 million dollar contract without somebody trying to jack him.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Norm Clarke, Walker was seen Saturday night at Tryst at the Wynn spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered.

Clarke also said Walker was at Body English at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino until 6:30 a.m. Monday and that his first round of champagne cost him $15,000.

Shouldn’t spraying champagne be called making it rain? Then we could call throwing large sums of money out to the crowd “stupid”.

It’s one thing to break the law, but what if you’re breaking the law for charity? Robin Hood made a career out of taking from the rich and giving to the poor and everybody praises him. Why no love for Ed McCabe? Yes, he downloaded a picture of Bill Romanowski, photoshopped it with his number and pretended to be a member of the ’80 Oakland Raiders, but he did it in the name of charity. He should get pass. Not for being a great guy, but because he’s got quite a pair on him.

Last week, McCabe acknowledged to The Palm Beach Post that he never appeared in an NFL game and did not play college football, but maintained that the photo was taken during a 1980 tryout with the Raiders. Oakland has no record of McCabe ever trying out for the team.

On Tuesday, McCabe wouldn’t discuss the faked photograph. “I’m not saying a word about that. I have to get my life together.”

By life together he probably means lookout for a ‘roid ragin Bill Romanowski, but McCabe has nothing to worry about. A kindler, gentler Romanowski says this isn’t the first time somebody has impersonated him and he’s not gonna waste his time beating up Ed McCabe. I bet Marcus Williams’ eye socket is wondering where this Romo was in 2003.

Mike Williams is known more for his attempt at entering the NFL as a sophomore than for his actual NFL career. In two long seasons, Williams has amassed 37 catches for 449 yards, and two touchdowns. Not quite the numbers you would expect from a 10th overall draft pick.

There are a few factors that should be considered when talking about Mike’s slow start. Detroit drafted Williams in 2005 after having drafted receivers in the first round the two years prior, the team offense underwent a major makeover when Mike Martz joined the coaching staff in 2006, and he was playing for the Lions.

Williams was considered one of college football’s most dominate receivers when he was at USC. The naysayers would claim that he was the benefactor of playing with an all-star team, but I’d say he was a beast. His size and strength had NFL scouts drooling even if they questioned his speed. Once he made it to the league, Mike says there were other concerns about him.

“For some reason, I was labeled fat, lazy … a pot smoker. And that was the farthest thing from it. I really feel like, as far as the weight part of it, I was put in a position that since they didn’t have a plan for me, they could say, Well, because he doesn’t weigh 220, he’s not in shape to play … ‘ “

I won’t say that he’s in the best situation now, a sort of make or break season with a rookie quarterback and suspect offensive line, but he has to be feeling better than he did in Detroit. He gets to play for a guy he’s familiar with in Raiders head coach and former SC assistant Lane Kiffin, and he has the chance to prove that he wants to and can make it in the NFL. He should be comfortable and motivated which provides a perfect storm for rejuvenation.

Who is this guy and what has he done with Randy Moss? Watching this video you’d never know that he’s bumping traffic agents with his car and admitting to marijuana use on Real Sports. He talks about God and Mom, his Heroes, and mooning Green Bay. From the director David Bojorquez:

“he impressed the hell out of me… I don’t consider myself a huge football fan.. I’m first and foremost a filmmaker and I did my homework on him, prior to the shoot. What I learned is that the Moss portrayed by the media, is nothing like Moss the man. He’s just really a nice (extremely talented) guy who you could easily go out and have a beer with. He has a very positive approach to life and what he had to say is something I believe can be inspiring to millions. “

While Randy Moss has had run ins with the law, and Terrell Owens’ problems are usually ego related, Moss always came across as the better teammate. Hopefully he hasn’t lost a step as some people suggest. If he’s really got his mind right, and he can get someone to get him the ball (through the draft or by Randy being traded or cut) I say he puts up numbers closer to his 1396 yard, 13 touchdown average his first 6 seasons rather than the 775 yard, 8 touchdown average the last 3 seasons.
