A few months ago a New Orleans Saints fan made a bet with his friends on the Saints-Redskins game. He took the Washington and said if New Orleans won his friends could shoot his 60″ flat screen television. The Saints pulled out the game in OT, but the fan was a man of his word and let his friends blast the TV.

Apparently the Saints fan has an unlimited supply of televisions to demolish. In his latest video he let’s a beer can wielding driver of a homemade monster truck crush TVs on his lawn, and then he gets off a few “Who dats” before dropping a television from at least 500 feet in the air. The Super Bowl celebration at the 3:30 mark is special.

Wow. That was.. Uh, worth watching? You know MTV execs have to be planning “Louisiana Coast” to replace “Jersey Shore.”

Former NBA player and coach Avery Johnson was born and raised in New Orleans and is a life-long Saints fan. Being who he is gave him access to the tunnel after the game where he congratulated the players and posed with the Lombardi Trophy with head coach Sean Payton. I’m guessing Johnson, like the city of New Orleans, is still up celebrating the Saints Super Bowl win.

Trailing 24-17 with 3:24 remaining in the Super Bowl it was reasonable to assume that Peyton Manning would lead his team down the field for the game tying touchdown. He and the Colts had the ball at the Saints’ 31 and were facing a third and five when Tracy Porter stepped in front of a pass intended for Reggie Wayne and returned it 74 yards for the game clinching touchdown. Let the Peyton Manning is a choker talk begin.

Not that any member of this team will ever have to pay for a meal again in New Orleans, but Sean Payton, Drew Brees, and Tracy Porter can run for office.

The New Orleans Saints continued the healing of their city and region with a tough, 31-17 come from behind win over the Indianapolis Colrts in Super Bowl XLIV. Peyton Manning and the Colts jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but by the end of the game Drew Brees and the New Orleans defense were in control.

It’s been four and a half years since Hurricane Katrina pounded the Gulf Coast, and the area, including the city of New Orleans, hasn’t finished the rebuilding process. After watching what the Saints accomplished tonight there’s no doubt that New Orleans will be back and better than ever. The team represented more than 53 men working together to possibly win a championship. They carried the hopes and dreams of their community onto the field and they didn’t let them down. Congratulations to the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints and to all the people that tied their personal comeback to the football team.

Brett Favre is singing “Pants on the Ground” and having it remixed and Prince cut his worst song ever a fight song for the Minnesota Vikings but so far the only people reppin’ the Saints with songs are the team’s fans.

Former NFL player Tebucky Jones was involved in an altercation over the weekend in the lobby of the Mohegan Sun casino. Jones was arrested and charged with breach of peace, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree sexual assault after groping a woman and then fighting her boyfriend.

Melissa Rodriguez, the target of Tebucky Jones’ bump and run, doesn’t want Tebucky’s star status to get him out of the situation.

“I just don’t want him to get away with it. It’s just not right.”

“I don’t know what gave him the right to think he could not only grab me, but then physically assault my boyfriend just for defending me.”

Rodriguez said she, her boyfriend, and friends had just left the Ultra 88 dance club at the casino about 1 a.m. Friday when, she said, Jones walked by and groped her.

If the case is decided by “star status” Tebucky Jones is headed to jail. Based on what I’ve read he’ll probably get a fine. Since casinos have cameras everywhere I can’t wait for the video of Tebucky grabbing the woman’s ass then getting punched in the face to make the internet.

Former USC Trojan and current New Orleans Saint Reggie Bush is in lukewarm water. He’s currently being investigated by the NCAA to see if Bush and his family received improper benefits. If the allegations turn out to be true, USC may have to give up it’s 2004 championship and Reggie could lose his 2005 Heisman. The new book, Tarnished Heisman: Did Reggie Bush Turn His Final College Season Into a Six-Figure Job?, plans to do for Reggie Bush what Game of Shadows did for Barry Bonds.. That’s not good for Reggie.

A number of former Heisman winners were asked for their opinions on Reggie Bush’s situation. Most of the cats seem to side with Bush..

“You’ve got to get all the facts before you rush to judgment. Now if it was the kid’s parents taking things and he really had no control over that, he still had to play on the field and do all those things. You can’t fault a kid for what his parents do. So we should wait to get all the facts on it. If it turns out to be something else, then you make a judgment off of those facts.”

I vaguely remember Tyrone Hughes as a defensive back in the NFL. By name only, I don’t recall any specific plays he made or anything of that nature.. His post NFL career won’t easily be forgotten. The former Saint, Bear, and Cowboy has landed himself in a bit of trouble at South Cliff Oak High School.

Hughes, who once played football for millions of dollars is currently a 19k a year hall monitor. He was hoping to flip hall monitoring into college football coaching via assistant coaching in high school, but his plan hit a snag when he lost his cellphone.

Student Clarence Winkfield said he found the phone lying in a hallway and later pawned it for $20 – but not before looking at two nude photos on the phone and making a few calls. It’s those calls that led Mr. Hughes to the teenager.

One of the two nude photos was Tyrone Hughes going Sean Salisbury, and the other was of a female. Possessing pornography on campus can be grounds for termination, but according to the grandma of the student that found the phone, Hughes made a death threat as well.

“He called a few minutes later and said, ‘Your grandson is a dead grandson,’ “. She began keeping Clarence and his sister, who also attends South Oak Cliff, out of school, fearing what the hall monitor might do.

If grandma’s claims are true, I don’t know what to say. Obviously Tyrone Hughes should be fired.. And some charges should be filed. I understand he didn’t want pictures of his junk floating around the high school, but he shouldn’t have threatened the teenager… He coulda just waited for him in the parking lot. Moron.

With all of the other things going on in sports I had no idea that Mark Fields was caught up in a domestic violence lawsuit. Fields is accused of beating his pregnant girlfriend in June of 2003. The abuse left the woman with permanent blindness in her left eye, paralysis of the face, and migraine headaches. I know Fields was only allegedly beating a pregnant human female, but this is disturbing nonetheless. As you can see in the above video, Mr. Fields has a very loose interpretation of “Put Your Ass 6 Feet Under”, and his concept of kicking his girlfriend in the stomach is interesting as well…

Kind of funny that for the first :50 seconds of the video Mark’s saying he didn’t kick his girlfriend in the stomach but then..

Q: So she just made up that you kicked her in the stomach?

MF: No, no…

What the hell was that? I didn’t do it , I didn’t do it, I didn’t do it, but she’s not lying… I’m not saying Mark is gonna lose the lawsuit, but it doesn’t sound good so far. The case is set to go to court in Los Angeles on September 11th.
