In January the NFL Network’s Deion Sanders played a game of word association with Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis. When Primetime asked the Island what he thought of TO and Randy Moss, Revis called them both slouches. Moss was cool with it and said Revis would see the Slouch on the field. Round 1 goes to Moss.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is going to miss the remainder of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard will go down in history as the man that ended Tom Brady’s 2008 season, unless this is all a big mix up like last year with Eli Manning. Randy Moss says it was a dirty hit:

“I don’t really want to get into it, but for me personally, I think it was dirty,” Moss said. “When I came back in (to watch the replay), it looked dirty to me. I’ve never been a dirty player. I honestly don’t even know how to play dirty. I just play the game. Any time you see something like that that looks foul, that looks dirty, it opens your eyes. So for me personally, it looked dirty.”

Bernard Pollard says he had no bad intentions:

“I’m not a dirty player,” Pollard said. “Like I said, it was football, it really was. I can’t do anything but pray for him and hope he comes back. As soon as he went down, if it was a dirty play, I wouldn’t have apologized. I’d have got up and went my way. I immediately started apologizing. I went to my coach and let my coach know and my coach knew (it wasn’t a dirty play.) For all the people who said that, that’s their opinion.”

I’ve seen the play about 14,000 times now and I don’t think it was a dirty hit. It’s just a fluke injury.

Former NFL player Tebucky Jones was involved in an altercation over the weekend in the lobby of the Mohegan Sun casino. Jones was arrested and charged with breach of peace, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree sexual assault after groping a woman and then fighting her boyfriend.

Melissa Rodriguez, the target of Tebucky Jones’ bump and run, doesn’t want Tebucky’s star status to get him out of the situation.

“I just don’t want him to get away with it. It’s just not right.”

“I don’t know what gave him the right to think he could not only grab me, but then physically assault my boyfriend just for defending me.”

Rodriguez said she, her boyfriend, and friends had just left the Ultra 88 dance club at the casino about 1 a.m. Friday when, she said, Jones walked by and groped her.

If the case is decided by “star status” Tebucky Jones is headed to jail. Based on what I’ve read he’ll probably get a fine. Since casinos have cameras everywhere I can’t wait for the video of Tebucky grabbing the woman’s ass then getting punched in the face to make the internet.

Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Scientology, and Jennifer Lopez are just a small sample of people and groups that the show has gone after. We can now add Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots to the list.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker are Denver Broncos fans but that didn’t stop them from taking a run at one of their own. If they’ll blast an up and coming Jay Cutler, you know they couldn’t wait to throw some heat at the most hated team in the AFC.

I’m not down with how the ’72 Miami Dolphins sit around hatin’ on anybody getting close to their record, but it is kinda funny. I wanted the Patriots to win, you know, so I could say I was watching when.. Well I was watching when.. When the Giants defense punked Tom Brady and the Patriots offense for 60 minutes. This is a great victory for New York, and Eli Manning played like a Super Bowl vet when it mattered most, but I would’ve given the MVP to the defensive line. Those dudes played their asses off and set the tone for the rest of the team.. Either way, congrats to the New York Giants, The Super Bowl XLII champions.

This is what it all comes down to. One game to settle it all. Am I a football picking loser or do I half way know what I’m talking about? The answer is clear but humor me for a few minutes.. I’m 8-2 straight up but only 6-4 against the spread in the NFL playoffs. My two straight up losses were both courtesy of the New York Giants. I picked the G-Men to cover but lose to Dallas and Green Bay.. Keep that in mind.

The New England Patriots are gonna win Super Bowl XLII. They haven’t walked this far to let their dream get away at the last second. Figuring out that the Patriots will win the game is the easy part. The better team wins the Super Bowl 98% (official YBB stat) of the time.. If you’re still reading at this point, you wanna know who’s gonna cover.

The Super Bowl point spread opened with New England as 12-14 point favorites. The line I’m going with has the Patriots -12 over the New York Giants. The Pats have never won a Super Bowl by more than 3 points, so a big victory would be the exclamation point to the greatest season in NFL history. The New York Giants are getting a lot of credit for playing the Patriots tough in the final game of the regular season, and people are saying that New York has gained from playing the Patriots once already. Why hasn’t New England learned anything from that game? It was the Patriots that came into the game physically and mentally tired from carrying the undefeated load. They took the Giants best shot and still won the game. Now they have two weeks to rest and prepare for the one game that puts them in the elite of the elite, and they’re not going to blow it.. Or cover the game.

I don’t know what happened between Randy Moss and his friend that caused her to file a temporary restraining order, but this is how you get in front of the situation. Roger Clemens take notes. Granted, Moss waited until the situation went public, but what could he do? It’s not like he could just call the reporters over and say hey guys in the next couple of days you’re gonna hear that I hit a woman or some shit like that.. It’s not true but you know… you’re gonna hear it so it is what it is..

I don’t have enough details to give an opinion either way. There could be something to this, or it could be a Kwame Brown playoff distraction type of situation. Either way, I don’t see this having the Romo effect on the rest of the New England Patriots.

The credit for the New England Patriots’ run this decade is given to Vice President of player-personnel Scott Pioli, head coach Bill Belichick, and owner Robert Kraft. Players and coaches leave the Patriots, but the team remains a contender. These men have built a dynasty in an era designed to prevent dynasties, and are on the verge of becoming the greatest team of all time. So they do deserve a few props.. But apparently, most of the glory should go to God.

In January of 2000 the Kraft Family Stadium opened in Jerusalem. The New England Patriots won the Superbowl in 2001. Coincidence? Robert Kraft doesn’t think so.

“Before building the field in Jerusalem, the Patriots had never won a Super Bowl. Since building the field we have three championships. This could not have been by chance.”

So the Patriots owner built a stadium in the Holy Land and got blessed with some Superbowls and possibly a 16-0 season? I don’t know if I’m buying that.. Doesn’t matter what I think as long as Robert Kraft believes it. If this is true, where on Earth did the Cincinnati Bengals owner donate a stadium? Mississippi?!?

Football continues to try to expand globally. NFL Europe failed but they’ll try again. The good news is guys are playing American football in Italy, and Israel.. The bad news is it’ll be around December 2507 or never, which ever comes first, before the rest of the world truly cares about and can compete in our game.
