The Heavyweight division was once the crown jewel of boxing but with the lack of exciting fighters and serious American contenders smaller boxers such as Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are the main attractions of the sport. Ringside Report says Mike Tyson and Don King are looking to inject some life into the once dominant Heavyweight division later this year.

According to a source close to Tyson, former Promoter Don King has a tentative deal for Tyson to return to the ring in late 2010. The initial plan is to have Tyson-Holyfield III, but there is rumored hesitation on the part of Iron Mike, and there is a plan B.

A Connecticut heavyweight named Tony Grano, former cruiserweight champ, Jean Marc Mormeck, Vinny Maddalone, and Derric Rossy have all been mentioned as potential first or second comeback opponents for Tyson.

Tyson turns 44 in June and Evander Holyfield sounds like this. Guys want to fight until they die in the ring but it doesn’t mean they should be allowed to.

Mike Tyson appeared on the Italian version of “Dancing With the Stars” over the weekend and held his own with partner Elena Coniglio. The dancing workout seems to have done Tyson some good because he looks like he’s lost some weight. After watching this video I know the execs at ABC are scrambling to get Tyson on the next season of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Mike Tyson did a good job but the real story is Elena Coniglio. She looks great. Whether she’s dancing with Mike Tyson or pimpin’ Yoga books, Coniglio is damn sexy.

Mike Tyson returned to the ring for his second WWE appearance on tonight’s Monday Night RAW. “The baddest man on the planet” spoke about his return to the program until Sheamus interrupted him but nobody got slammed through a table like Mark Cuban. Tyson flexed and Sheamus flinched which marks the first time Tyson’s scared anybody in the ring in 10 years.

Heavyweights Snoop Dogg and Mike Tyson sat down recently to chop and light it up. Lately Snoop’s been promoting his new album “Malice in Wonderland” and making songs for DeSean Jackson. Mike Tyson’s been making appearances and eating very well. Now I know why he’s so hungry. Too much Pineapple Express.

Police detained former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson at the Los Angeles International Airport on the suspicion that he got rough with a paparazzi. I say good for Mike Tyson. A lot of people think he’s fat and washed up but this proves he can still take out guys that run around snapping pics of celebs for a living.

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” today in what was reportedly a love-fest between the biter and the bitten. Tyson didn’t apologize for taking a chunk of Evander’s ear in their 1997 rematch, and Holyfield told of biting his brothers as a kid.

Things went well which is better than a meeting Tyson and Holyfield had in July at an ESPN the Magazine ESPY event. Both showed up at the Standard Hotel within minutes of each other to pick up some swag but didn’t know the other was there. The word quickly spread around the floor and a photographer brought the two fighters together for a picture and a handshake.

There weren’t many words exchanged and seemed like the two fighters were cool. But a few minutes after Holyfield left the hallway Tyson looked agitated, and he and his crew left the building. The initial story being told was that Mike was weirded out by running into Evander Holyfield and the media attention was more than he could handle that day.

Ten minutes later a guy from Tyson’s team came back to the event and explained that Mike simply had somewhere else to be and that he was glad to have seen Holyfield.. He then proceeded to collect gifts on Tyson’s behalf.

I’m glad to see Tyson and Holyfield sit with Oprah and act like everything’s all good. And from Holyfield’s standpoint it probably is. He’s in shape, doing commercials, and he beat Mike twice. Tyson on the other hand has to deal with the shame of biting Holyfield, the losses, major weight gain, and personal tragedy. He can play nice on a made for TV special with Oprah and Evander, but deep down Tyson’s demons still haunt him.

I gotta give it to Joe Jonas.. The kid’s got balls. Most people wouldn’t wanna be in the same building as a scissors-wielding Mike Tyson, but the middle Jonas brother let Iron Mike cut his hair. The haircut is Fox’s idea of promotion for the Teen Choice Awards.. I now I’m gonna watch now.

It looks like Joe Jonas was wearing a wig, but even if it’s his real hair he should just be thankful that Tyson didn’t eat him. I don’t mean bite him like Mike did Evander Holyfield, I mean eat him. Mike looks like he’s going through buffets like he went through the heavyweight division early in his career.

Mike Tyson hasn’t beat anybody in the ring since 2003 so he’s taking out his frustrations on Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight“. The clip is from the upcoming movie The Hangover and features Iron Mike doing his best William Hung to Collins’ classic.

They say being on film adds 10 pounds which means the scene with Mike Tyson was shot by 15 to 20 cameras. I’m not saying Mike Tyson’s fat, but it took me a second to figure out which one was Mike and which one was the piano.

There are rumors out there about Oliver McCall or Lennox Lewis getting the best of Mike Tyson during sparring sessions back in the day. The stories go both ways- Iron Mike got his ass whooped, Iron Mike whooped ass.

What won’t be disputed is Greg Page knocking down Mike Tyson in a sparring session before Mike’s historic loss to Buster Douglas.

I wonder if this clip is in James Toback’s “Tyson”? The Japanese commentary makes it sound like a Godzilla movie with Mike playing the part of ‘Zilla in the early part of the movie.. The part when Godzilla gets beatdown, doesn’t show up, won’t fight, doesn’t have his powers, or something like that. But Godzilla always rallied back. Tyson got knocked out.

There has been talk of former Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson making a comeback in the ring or the octagon. He’s been spotted at gyms traning in what people believe is preparation for a fight. The talk is mostly rumors and wishful thinking by fight fans, but now Tyson has spoken and killed any thoughts of his return.

“No, I’m finished with fighting. I’m done,” he answered quickly.

Boxers seem like the athletes that have the hardest time letting go of the game. I hope Mike means it, but with his financial problems I wouldn’t rule out Tyson boxing Evander Holyfield, fighting Kimbo Slice, or wrestling an alligator. Everybody knows he would lose all three but people would still pay to watch.
