Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett is a sports blogger’s dream and an NFL PR department’s nightmare. He’s made more headlines for messing around on Youtube than for playing football. At some point the negative publicity is going to outweigh two-year career stats of 35 catches and four touchdowns.

Bennett’s latest slip-up is taking naked cell phone pictures and sending them to his then girlfriend, now vengeful ex-girlfriend. She gave the flicks to Media Take Out who posted them on the web by first identifying Bennett as Marcellus Wiley. Note to MTO: Marcellus Wiley is the guy Aaron Rodgers hates. Martellus Bennett is the doofus that imitated Osama Bin Laden on 4th of July.

I think I speak for most male sports fans when I say enough with the male athlete nude pics. It’s time for disgruntled ex-boyfriends (and girlfriends) to start leaking pictures of people the average sports fan wants to see. Why do we get Grady Sizemore instead of Allison Stokke? You think Common never took pictures of Serena Williams? C’mon man. This is 2010 and we as a (sports) nation can not stand for female athletes being denied their naked place on the Internet.

Martellus Bennett is the second-string tight end for the Dallas Cowboys that’s better known for his raps and Black Olympics on Youtube than he is for his play on the field. There have been plenty of reports about the talent and potential of Bennett but so far he’s been a disappointment and now he’s letting his frustration show. Via Youtube of course.

Martellus has recorded his first vlog which I assume is for his new Web site that charges $9.95 a month for a subscription. Over what sounds like some rejected tracks from “Kung-Fu” Bennett goes in on his football and rap haters, and then meditates to the “I will beat up a hater” mantra before flexing his karate skills.

Solid effort by Martellus even though he’s a little N-word heavy. I love hip-hop and I can live with hearing nigga in songs but something about a million dollar athlete throwing around the word for kicks bothers me.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett is probably better known for his Youtube work than his play on the field. Bennett’s caught four passes for 40 yards this season prompting some “Romo doesn’t look for Bennett” talk. Martellus joked about the situation at a charity event which should put the issue to rest..

When Martellus Bennett was at an event to raise diabetes awareness earlier in the week and joked before a little girl threw him a pass that, “I hope she’s not Tony Romo cause I won’t get the ball,” it raised awareness about the rapport between the two.

I’ll take any chance I get to rip the golden child Tony Romo but this is all on Bennett. Romo’s been spreading the ball around with Terrell Owens gone so it’s probably a case of Bennett not getting open instead of getting overlooked. Good thing he’s a decent blocker because he’s not performing as a receiver.

I’m a big fan of athletes being on Facebook, Twitter, or any means of direct communication with their fans. They can give ESPN and beat writers the cookie cutter answers, and then open up in the privacy of the social media site of their choosing. But this isn’t always a good thing.

Take Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett. Marty B has had ups and downs with YouTube. He got in trouble for his Cowboys Rap, but has bounced back nicely with a Cap’n Crunch Rap. Until Now.

Marty B’s latest offering is titled “The Black Olympics” and features him and his brother Michael of the Seattle Seahawks. The video sets black YouTube users back 1000 years.

If the Chapelle Show was doing “The Black Olympics” I’d probably still be laughing. Marty B’s version is an embarrassment. There’s a difference between a professional comedian attempting racial humor and some backup tight end with a YouTube fetish getting his brother to join him in ignorant infamy. You’re not gonna see Ryan Braun and Kevin Youkilis having a money counting race in “The Jewish Olympics” and Yao Ming won’t be battling Yi Jinlian on the Autobahn. Stick to rapping Martellus. Or better yet, put the Internet down for a while.

Martellus Bennett (or Marty B) is a back up tight end for the Dallas Cowboys and another on the long list of athletes that wanna be rappers. Marty B’s first go round with the mic landed him in trouble because of his lyrics. He’s toned it down to Will Smith level with his latest rap about one of the greatest cereals of all-time, Captain Crunch.

The combination of Cap’n Crunch with crunch berries and the Super Brooklyn beat are enough for me to give Bennett five outta 10 on this track. His songs aren’t gonna land him the starting position or a record deal but at least Martellus can tell his grandchildren he was on YouTube.
