Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao have agreed to fight December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The two will square off at 147 pounds and will wear eight ounce gloves. The deal hasn’t been finalized because the two sides are still haggling over the size of the purse. Reports say team De La Hoya wants to split the purse 70-30, but Manny’s camp wants 60-40 (in favor of Oscar). They’ll figure it out soon because neither side is gonna let this payday pass them by.

If you owe the Wynn Las Vegas money you should go ahead and pay up before they take you to court. The casino that filed a lawsuit against Charles Barkley last month for an unpaid $400,000 gambling debt is now suing the NBA and Alonzo Mourning.

From the L.A. Times:

Wynn Las Vegas claims NBA Entertainment, NBA Properties and co-defendant Alonzo Mourning Charities have failed to pay a $50,000 bill for convention and meeting space and related services used during the 2007 NBA All-Star weekend.

It’s probably an oversight on the league’s and Zo’s part but still, they better straighten this out before the Wynn says forget the lawyers and sends out their “collection team”. I’d hate to hear about David Stern and Alonzo Mourning last being seen driven into a cornfield.

The U.S. Olympic basketball team is in Las Vegas getting ready for a run at the gold while the Boston Celtics are living it up. KG, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Sam Cassell and Rajon Rondo put their Sin City partying on pause to check out Manny Pacquiao vs. David Diaz. As you can hear in the video one of Pacman’s dreams was to meet Kevin Garnett, and the two share a mutual respect for one another.

People were worried that Manny Pacquiao would lose some speed when he moved up to 135 lbs. I have some bad news for his competition.. He didn’t. Pacquiao looked just as fast and he says he’s even stronger. David Diaz’s face and the ring canvas agree.

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was found unconscious Monday morning in Las Vegas, the victim of a robbery and beating. He was taken to Sunrise Medical Center where he was treated for a fractured orbital bone and is listed in fair condition.

From Fox5 in Las Vegas:

NFL wide receiver Javon Walker was the victim of an apparent early morning robbery, according to Metro police.

Walker was found unconscious at about 7:19 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Koval Lane and Winnick Avenue, officers said.

Police said Walker had significant injuries.

We’ll have to wait for more information but it sounds like a case of some haters on the loose. Javon was spotted partying hard all weekend and somebody probably targeted him. That’s f’d up. A guy can’t spend his $55 million dollar contract without somebody trying to jack him.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Norm Clarke, Walker was seen Saturday night at Tryst at the Wynn spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered.

Clarke also said Walker was at Body English at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino until 6:30 a.m. Monday and that his first round of champagne cost him $15,000.

Shouldn’t spraying champagne be called making it rain? Then we could call throwing large sums of money out to the crowd “stupid”.

Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has reportedly bought a penthouse at Palms Place in Las Vegas making him neighbors with Jessica Simpson, Paul Stanley, and Linda Hogan. Palms Place (on the right in the photo) is the latest addition to George Maloof’s Palms casino, and boasts three styles of residence a 50,000-square-foot pool, a co-ed Turkish bath treatment, and a Sunset Tan studio.

The 520-foot tower features 442 600-square-foot studio units, 136 1,200-square-foot one-bedroom suites and 21 penthouse units that range from 2,000 to 7,000 square feet.

The price of the units rises with height. The studio apartments started at $450,000, increasing by about $7,000 per floor to $650,000. The one-bedroom units ranged from $700,000 to $1.2 million while the penthouses – on the top four floors of the tower – are priced to as much as $5 million.

I don’t know when Doc Rivers decided to pick-up a new condo, but I see where he’s going with this. Forget that he’ll obviously be renting the place for the majority of the season.. If the Celtics with the title, Doc will be in Vegas partying his ass off. If Boston loses to the Lakers, Doc will be in Sin City drowning his sorrows.

The long awaited fight between Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will finally happen on Saturday. Hopefully the night will provide the shine for boxing that Floyd and Oscar failed to deliver. Mayweather lives in Vegas so he should have great support from the crowd, but the Brits travel well so there will definitely be a pro-Hatton presence. Plenty of Americans will be pulling for Hatton out of spite for Floyd, and Mike Tyson is one of them.

“I just want the best man to win and that means Ricky Hatton. He’s a great kid. I don’t like Floyd Mayweather.”

By Mike’s own reasoning, nobody would have ever picked him in one of his fights. I’m not sure what you have to do to be out of favor with Mike Tyson, but apparently Mayweather has crossed the line.. It could be that Mike doesn’t find Floyd’s male rape prison fantasy entertaining, or maybe it’s Floyd’s flashy style. If I had to put some money on it, I would say it’s one of Mike’s bipolar episodes, and tomorrow he’ll say how he hates England and he hopes Floyd Mayweather kicks Ricky Hatton’s ass.. Yeah either that or Mike Tyson’s on to something.

Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton throw down in two weeks at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. It has the potential to be the fight of the year.. Two undefeated fighters, Mayweather’s the WBC welterweight and pound-for-pound champion, while Hatton’s an English fighting machine. Buy this fight on ppv and don’t worry about a Mayweather/De La Hoya type of fight, something Hatton’s style won’t allow.As is the norm, the fighters have been engaging in a war of words on their press circuit. It started with all of the normal I’m gonna whip your ass and you talk too much verbal jabbing.. But Floyd Mayweather decided to up the ante.

The Pretty Boy got the party started with this comment to Ricky Hatton:

“I wish I was in prison with you. I’d make you my bitch.”

If I’m a millionaire, wishing I was in prison so I could make somebody my bitch wouldn’t be high on my list.. Even if I was scheduled to go 12 rounds with the guy, I wouldn’t hope to be behind bars just to say gotcha… Sticking with the prison theme, Hatton says Mayweather wanted to get OZ close and personal with him:

“What Floyd doesn’t know is that I don’t get insulted. But he was very offensive. He told me he wanted to buttf*** me.”

Bravo Floyd.. You’ve joined Mike Tyson on the shortlist of boxers that want to pleasure punish their opponents sexually. Are these guys pugilists or a pirates? Only in America and only in boxing. I’m glad we don’t have this in other sports.. Can you imagine if Josh Beckett said “Not only will I beat the Yankees.. I’m gonna rape Jeter” ? Yeah, that probably wouldn’t go over so well..

I’ll drop my prediction for the fight when it gets closer, but it shouldn’t be hard to figure out if you’ve been watching boxing lately.

If somebody was lucky enough to get away with a high profile double murder, you’d think they would want to avoid the spotlight by all means.. They wouldn’t write books about how the murders could have happened or do internet tv interviews. They wouldn’t always wind up in the news and the damn sure wouldn’t break the law.

Enter Orenthal James Simpson. He loves the spotlight. He has to. There’s no other way to explain how he’s always caught up in some shit. Simpson has had to talk to the police 7 times since he beat the murder charge. 7. I haven’t heard about Robert Blake so much as jaywalking.. Of course, Robert Blake’s not guilty decision wasn’t to White people what the Stoudemire/Diaw suspensions were to Suns fans, but still, all of the White anger in the country couldn’t have O.J. bumping into da Boys this much.

2000: Called 911 about his girlfriend that was supposedly high on cocaine. He also mentioned Pedro Guerrero and his drug case numerous times.

O.J. was allegedly kicked and slapped by a girlfriend at the Miami Wyndham hotel, but no charges were filed.

2001: O.J. was cleared of all charges stemming from an alleged road rage incident.

O.J.’s house was raided because he was stealing DirectTv. He ended up paying $58k in damages and lawyer fees.

2003: Simpson’s daughter Sydney called 911 about an “abuse thing”. No charges were filed.

2005: O.J. was at a neighbor’s house when the police are called to the scene about a fight. No charges are filed.

2007: O.J. faces two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime and burglary with a firearm.

Let’s face it, O.J. needs to be locked up… So he can be protected from his damn self. At the pace he’s on, I could see “Suicide By Cop” in mid 2008.
