It was reported last week that Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin went ballistic on his teammates after finding his Range Rover filled with buttered popcorn as an April Fool’s day joke. Thirty Mile Zone has come up with audio and yes Martin sounds pissed but not as mad as I had hoped/expected.

If any of the Nuggets had balls they would fill K-Mart’s car up with popcorn again but roll a camera on his reaction this time. Only if..

Kenyon Martin played for the New Jersey Nets six years ago and was around Bruce Ratner briefly but that doesn’t mean K-Mart can’t take shots at the Nets Owner. Kenyon says if you need somebody to blame for New Jersey’s overall decline, including the 0-14 start, point your fingers at Ratner.

Julian Garcia of the NY Daily News spoke to Martin before the Nuggets 101-87 victory over New Jersey:

“When you let people who have never played the game of basketball make decisions, that’s what you get.”

“Bruce Ratner came in and made decisions and it affected everything from that point on. The blame for that has to go somewhere. It can’t always be on the players.”

Kenyon went on to say it’s not coach Lawrence Frank’s fault because he cares so much and tries so hard. Which might be true but there’s enough blame for everybody in New Jersey. Bad owner, injuries, coaching, players, wherever you want to lay blame works until the Nets get their franchise turned around.

The Dallas Mavericks delayed their execution for a game with a 119-117 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the American Airlines Center Monday night, and nobody gives a damn. The news of the series isn’t the Nuggets’ 3-1 lead. It’s Mavs owner Mark Cuban’s battle with Kenyon Martin and his mother.

Cuban referred to Kenyon as a thug while speaking to Martin’s mother which pissed of K-Mart and he vowed to take care of it. He came pretty close during and after the game.

During a break in the action in the third quarter Kenyon Martin approached the sideline and began yelling at some fans sitting near his mother.

“You [expletive] better cut the [expletive],” he shouted, as team personnel tried to pull him back to the huddle. “You’re going to get [expletive] up.”

Martin then said to his mother: “Somebody do something to you, you better tell me. I’m going to [expletive] somebody up.”

Then after the game Kenyon could be seen shouting towards Cuban “You better walk the other way” or something to that effect. Which apparently was all he needed to say because Cuban has offered an apology to Kenyon and his mom.

So at this point I would like to apologize to you and your mom KMart for my comment. I should have not said anything and I was wrong. Hopefully you will accept the apology and we can move on.

When the series comes back to Dallas, your family, and the family of other Nuggets players are welcome to stay in my suite, with my family. Its amazing how tempers mellow when real people talk to each other and realize that its still just a game.

If that isn’t acceptable, I’m happy to provide a suite, free of charge to them as well and place whatever security is needed to make them feel comfortable.

“When the series comes back to Dallas”…. Why not just promise them a trip to the moon, Mark? I know you gotta support your fellas, but this series and feud is over in five.

It is good to see Cuban finally admitting his mistake. Even if K-Mart’s mom had started the confrontation (which she didn’t) Cubes is an owner. He has to be the bigger person. He has to walk away.

An Apology to Kenyon Martin’s Mom [Blog Maverick]

Kenyon Martin of the Denver Nuggets and rapper Trina were involved in a car accident Friday in Belize. The 6’9″ forward and his girlfriend traveled to Belize for a peace rally and basketball tournament. The accident occurred while they were being led by police escort from the airport to another destination.

From the sounds of it, the police motorcade leading Kenyon Martin caused the accident.

Police are investigating the accident. We should note that numerous witnesses saw and we noted that oncoming traffic had to swerve off the road because the motorcade – led by a police mobile with flashing lights- was overtaking traffic on the fairly narrow stretch of the Northern Highway. We couldn’t verify if the escort was officially sanctioned. Again no one was seriously hurt.

For all of you thinking, wait a minute, isn’t Kenyon Martin married, what’s he doing with Trina? The answer is yes. Here’s a picture of Kenyon and his wife Heather:

Before you start jumping to conclusions about what Kenyon is or isn’t doing behind his wife’s back let’s remember that Heather Martin allegedly gave Kenyon a cellphone for his groupies. Plus, Trina’s been runnin around claiming Kenyon Martin as her boyfriend, and she helped throw his 30th birthday party. Heather probably knows what’s up.. And if she didn’t, she does now.

Kenyon Martin of the Denver Nuggets has no love for Kobe Bryant and he’s lettin’ the world know.. And letting Kobe know ‘it’s better to be pissed off than pissed on’.. I gotta agree with K-Mart on that point…

But I gotta disagree with Kenyon’s gamesmanship tactics. Why poke at the Mamba? He dropped 49 and 10 on Denver in the last game for talking shit, but it’s like they didn’t notice because they’re right back at it. You would never know it by the trash that they talk, but the Denver Nuggets organization hasn’t won a playoff series since Mutombo was on the ground squeezing the basketball.. Losing the first two games of the series, giving up an average of 125 points per game, and calling out the world’s best player won’t isn’t the way to right the ship.

Kenyon Martin of the Denver Nuggets combined his 30th birthday party with a New Year’s eve party in South Beach. It was pretty much like my 30th birthday party minus the Maybachs, ice sculptures, hot women all around, girls dancing on stages, celebrities, a swimming pool, cameras, and the triple level car cake. I guess the only thing we actually had in common was turning 30.. K-Mart has a couple of social networking pages set up; one for the b-day/new year’s party and one for personal use if you’re trying to keep up with the bad ass yellow boy.
