Call me crazy but I assumed a brotha that plays golf would be a fan of hockey. This is not the case for one Eldrick Tiger Woods. The Great One on the links was speaking via satellite during a news conference at Oakland Hills Country Club when he was asked which team he’s rooting for in the Stanley Cup finals. A lot of attention is given to the off the field problems of athletes. Not enough attention is given to the men and women leading the athletes. I’m not skilled in mathematics but I bet if you broke down the ratio, you’d see that more coaches find themselves in trouble with the law than players. I did a quick google news search and was able to come up with five coaches that have been in trouble the last few days. Read the full story

February 29th is just another day to me. I don’t buy any of the Leap Year superstitions, and I don’t do anything special for our extra day. I am, however, amazed that a bunch of goofballs in tights could figure out that the Earth circles the sun in 365 1/4 days.
Since the Leap Year is every 4 years, people with a birthday on February 29th get shortchanged.. And I’ve always wondered how they decided which day to celebrate their birthday in a non Leap Year. Do they have to pick February 28th or March 1st or can they go with the closest weekend? I would want the closest weekend. Read the full story

Ryan Clowe, Johnathan Cheechoo, and Patrick Rissmiller of the San Jose Sharks got a chance to take some bp with the Oakland A’s… They didn’t embarrass themselves, except for somebody hacking with an aluminum bat. None of the 3 hockey players were able to hit a home run, telling me that either A) Hockey steroids are weaker than baseball steroids, or B) The hockey players weren’t currently on the juice because they knew they were getting tested.

If you missed the 06-07 NHL season, and the numbers say that you did, this video is a 9 minute recap. I only know two people that would sit through the entire video, and neither of them read my blog because I don’t write hockey. Here you go fellas… As for you normal people, if you do nothing else today, watch the first 20 seconds of the video.. That’s one of the few plays I remember from last season.
I’m not one of the people that likes to rip hockey for no apparent reason. It’s a cool little game, and it probably features the best passing in sports. My beef is with the league itself. Why start the season on a college football Saturday in England? And then to follow that up by having the real start to the season the same day the MLB playoffs begin?!? It seems like the NHL is doing it’s version of Springtime for Hitler.

If you’re a diehard NHL or NBA fan now is the worst time of the year for you. The championship is decided, the draft is over, and the preseason doesn’t start for weeks months. Well don’t worry cause I got your back.

I’m not a huge hockey fan so I only recognized a couple of the plays. Most notable to me was when Gretzky was playing for St. Louis and Detroit’s Russians were draggin his ass up and down the ice.

Since I’m the champion of the BBL fantasy league I knew that the Giessen 46ers is a real team. I prefer the Basketball Bundesliga to the WNBA because A) it’s anything other than the WNBA and B) I’ve never won my WNBA fantasy league.
So what’s a lego to do after he’s made it to the league? Endorsements.

The Ducks owe it all to this hardcore fan:

They better at least let him hold the Stanley Cup with the arm he has left.
I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that I can talk hockey, but the championship of America’s former fourth major has been decided and it deserves at least a line or two. Congrats to the Ducks and the city of Anaheim. A World Series title and now a Stanley Cup.. Maybe the Clippers really should move to Orange County.
And since I’m typing hockey, this gives me a convenient excuse to play this wonderful bit of sound. I know the whole free world has heard this by now, but a high cop calling 9-1-1 because he thinks he and his wife have overdosed on weed brownies and then asking for the Red Wings score (at the 4:56 mark) is beyond hilarious. “I think we’re dead. I really do.”
