Props to Ball Don’t Lie for this video of Dwight Howard meeting former Olympian Dominique Dawes. Something tells me Dwight Howard is a fan of hers.

The rest of the world now knows how to stop Dwight Howard on the basketball court. Break out the old school gymnast. Dominique Dawes was a member of three Olympic teams (’92, ’96, and ’00), and she dominated my fantasies in the summer of 1992. I would’ve been just as excited as Dwight Howard if I met Dominique, but I wouldn’t have been rolling around on the ground.. Unless she asked me too.

Arrested Sports Coaches

A lot of attention is given to the off the field problems of athletes. Not enough attention is given to the men and women leading the athletes. I’m not skilled in mathematics but I bet if you broke down the ratio, you’d see that more coaches find themselves in trouble with the law than players. I did a quick google news search and was able to come up with five coaches that have been in trouble the last few days.

*A Delaware man serving as a tumbling coach has been charged with eight counts of sex offenses against three young girls.

*A former Toronto jail guard and soccer coach plead guilty to possession and distribution of child pornography. He allegedly persuaded a woman to sexually abuse her grandchild online.

*A former Creighton University softball coach plead guilty in federal court to receiving and possessing child pornography.

*An assistant football coach in New York was charged with faking a burglary to hide the fact he stole money earned from a fundraiser.

*A former NHLer and current assistant coach in London charged with impaired driving.

It doesn’t matter what sport, what gender, or what country they’re in, coaches are outta control. Is this because they’re young, rich, and hanging out all hours of the night? Probably not. They’re just idiots like anyone else doing dumb shit and getting arrested.

It’s not like I could compete in half of the events shown, but if I did, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t face plant during the javelin toss. The guy impaling himself at the end of the video is proof that God doesn’t want men competing in gymnastics. Don’t believe me?
