Texas Tech has fired head coach Mike Leach with cause following allegations that he mistreated an injured player. Adam James, the son of ESPN analyst Craig James, claims to have been trapped in the closet under Leach’s orders while suffering from a concussion. Defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill will coach the team in Saturday’s Alamo Bowl against Michigan St.

Mike Leach and Texas Tech have been at odds for over a year and Leach finally gave them an excuse a reason to fire him.. One day before the school owed him 800k. Weird.

Lubbock-area rapper and producer Ryze had beef with Adam and Craig James before the news of Leach’s firing and aired them out over Eminem’s “Cleaning Out My Closet.”

• Mike Nolan fired after going 18-37 in three and a half seasons

The San Francisco 49ers fired head coach Mike Nolan after reports surfaced that the team planned to drop the ax on him after this Sunday’s game. Former Chicago Bears linebacker and current Niners linebackers coach Mike Singletary is taking over the head coaching duties for the remainder of the season.

The 49ers are 2-5 this season and have the 23rd ranked offense and defense. With J.T. O’Sullivan at quarterback and a defense that’s giving up 28 points a game, it’s hard to say a coaching change is gonna make the difference in San Fran. One thing’s for sure. Regardless of how this season turns out, the 49ers fans are poppin’ bottles over the news of Mike Nolan’s firing.

The folks at Fire Nolan haven’t posted since January, and I guess it doesn’t matter now since they’ve gotten their wish, but I’ve always wondered what do you do after the person that inspires fire__.com gets fired? Do these guys have a checklist of people they wanna get fired and move on to the next name on the list?

It looks like I’ve reached grumpy old man status.. I’m standing on corners, shaking my cane, and yelling about these kids today. The latest no good slacker youths to get on my nerves are wrestlers for Woodbury high school in Minnesota. They had a coach that cared about them and had their best interest at heart, but they threw it all away.

An assistant wrestling coach at Woodbury High School who’s accused of offering beer to team members has been fired.

A search warrant affidavit alleges the 21-year-old coach arrived at the Crown Plaza Hotel in St. Paul on Feb. 29. with a case of beer, accompanied by two high school-aged girls, and offered the alcohol to everyone in the room.

Case of beer? Girls? Can you guess what the five members of the wrestling team that were in the room did? No you can’t. They left the room and told school officials the following morning. I’m not saying that anything more than getting drunk and falling asleep would’ve happened in my day but we damn sure wouldn’t have went crying to the head coach about being exposed to women and alcohol… I know wrestlers hate the gay jokes but damn.. Don’t make it so easy.

Before Alex Rodriguez fired Scott Boras, before Alex Rodriguez opted out of his Yankees contract during the World Series, before Jose Canseco said he had steroid related dirt on A-Rod, before Alex was seen with the chick with the tig ‘o bitties and her Medifast coupons and before Alex was beefin with Jeter, Super Agent Scott Boras helped Alex Rodriguez sign a $252 million dollar contract with the Texas Rangers.

How did Boras do it?I don’t know.. But I do know one of the tactics that Boras used. He, well his staff at the Scott Boras Corporation, put together a sharp blue binder full of Alex Rodriguez stats and mailed it to every team in MLB. The book is full of statistical breakdowns and projections for A-Rod against current (2000) and former ball players.

There are pages and pages like this, mixed in with quotes from guys like Larry Bowa and Dusty Baker. All of it was done to celebrate the greatness that is Alex Rodriguez. Funny how times change.. Fast forward 7 years, Alex has a bigger contract but Boras almost blew it, and now they don’t speak.
