The first two preseason games are meaningless unless you’re a guy on the bubble of making the team or one of the star players goes down. New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning had fans nervous in the team’s preseason game against the New York Jets when he left the field with blood gushing from his head. Manning changed the play at the line of scrimmage but it looks like Brandon Jacobs missed the call and still went for the hand-off. The confusion resulted in Manning’s helmet getting knocked off and his face being bloodied by Jim Leonard’s facemask. It’s not the Manning Rex Ryan wants to knockout but I’m sure he’ll take bloodying up a QB no matter who it is.

*Update*: Eli suffered a three-inch laceration and received stitches for the injury.

Too funny. Midway through last season New Yorkers were ready to run Eli Manning out of town… David Tyree makes an incredible catch in the Super Bowl and Eli gets a statue. Rumor has it that a Plaxico Burress statue was made, but nobody can seem to find it.

Venus and Serena Williams are following in the footsteps of Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson by becoming two sport stars. The ladies have joined the Double Stuffed Racing League and seem to be taking it very seriously. The DSRL already features Peyton and Eli Manning, and now the brothers should expect a challege from the Williams sisters.

I’m not really into the DSRL. I tried picking it up last season but the league was weak with most of the best players living in third world countries. And besides, I know the Oreo people aren’t concerned with who wins the Double Stuffed race. They just wanted to pass a subliminal double stuffed oreo image on to consumers.

Abby’s been with Eli since college so I’m guessing she’s in it for the long haul. If she stuck by him while everybody in New York hated him, she’s not leaving him now that he’s on top.. Speaking of the top, somebody needs to explain to me what’s going on in New York. What’s the use in being the king of the city if you’re not gonna abuse enjoy your power. First Jay-Z gets married, now Eli Manning. Whatever’s going on, I guarantee Derek Jeter won’t be leaving the game anytime soon.
