Dwyane Wade and LeBron James are good friends and understandably share common interests. Things like playing basketball in Miami and terrorizing children on the court. LeBron dunked on and bowled over kids at his King’s Academy camp in San Diego last month and now Reds Army brings us D-Wade swatting youngsters at the Rucker. Dwyane Wade hosted his annual basketball camp in early July with the only news to come from the event being Wade canceling a press conference. The camp took place before Dwyane re-signed with the Heat and LeBron’s decision so there’s no new Big Three talk. Wade allowed a cameraman to follow him around the gym, giving a glimpse of the NBA star’s behind-the-scenes personality.

It’s funny to see how much joy professional basketball player Dwyane Wade takes in beating his short, fat, childhood friend. If the roles were reversed there’s no way Wade could hang in his buddy’s world (of Warcraft).

Dwyane Wade joined Jay Leno on the Tonight Show last week and let Jay talk him into performing a little of a rap he wrote as a child. Bad move. Wade’s rhymes immediately landed him on the “Worst Athlete Rappers” list even if he was eight when he penned “We was making all the baskets, yeah cuttin’ smooth, shootin’ the three, yeah we was in the groove.” D-Wade did another version of his rap and the result was just as bad ,so J Drumz Productions stepped in to bail out Wade. They remixed B-Ball Express (Fresh on the Court) and gave Wade a Schoolly D feel.

We all make bad decisions but they’re usually not broadcast on national television. After Jermaine O’Neal blocked LeBron James’ dunk attempt Anderson Varejao thought he’d try to block Dwyane Wade’s shot. He ended up regretting his decision one second after making it when Dwyane Wade threw down in his face, sending Varejao sliding into the basket support.

That’s one of the funniest ‘dunked ons’ I’ve ever seen. It kind of reminds me of Floyd Mayweather Jr. knocking down Ricky Hatton. Floyd’s punch was devastating but Hatton falling face first into the corner post floors me.

Remember earlier this year when English “Baron” Richard Von Houtman, a former business partner of Dwyane Wade, spilled what he claimed were the legit beans about D-Wade’s personal life? Well Von Houtman’s back with tales of spousal abuse and more pot-and-sex parties. And oh yeah, Dwyane Wade allegedly wanted Von Houtman to get him some steroids.

Wade filed a libel suit against Von Houtman in June, but if the guy’s lying everyone will still remember his claims. Even if he makes these type of idiotic statements:

“I just don’t understand,” he continues with something resembling sincerity. “How do you get bruises when you’re black?”

The Miami New Times caught up with Dwyane Wade to talk about negative publicity, but the interview gets shut down when the reporter brings up Richard Von Houtman.

I don’t know if Von Houtman is telling the truth or not but accusing a then married NBA player of gonzo sex and weed smoking isn’t saying a lot. And the spousal abuse claims would’ve carried more weight if they had been levied by a lawyer or the police instead of a dude with an axe to grind.

The Miami Heat played the New Jersey Nets in London and gave the audience what they came to see. A lot of dunks, highlighted by Dwyane Wade throwing down over Yi Jianlian.

That’s the D-Wade I’m used to. If he can stay healthy he’ll be an MVP candidate at the end of the season. I’ll forgive the traveling during the spin move and the double-dribble on breakaways as long as he’s playing hungry.

Many of you are probably too young to remember this but there was a time when Michael Jackson was considered a little strange but not Wacko. It was even cool for Michael Jordan to get dance lesson from Michael Jackson.

Two things: Michael Jordan was an incredible athlete on the basketball court, but he’s stiffer than Shawn Bradley on the dance floor, and Jordan didn’t want Jackson touching him. You can hear the nervousness in 23′s voice when M-Jack slides between his legs, and when Jackson was giving him moonwalking instructions Jordan said hey I got it when he obviously didn’t get it. Michael Jordan doesn’t seem like he would buy into the Pamela Anderson-Michael Jackson rumors.

I consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest basketball player of all-time, and one of the worst dancers in the history of the NBA. He’s got nothing on Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard or D-Wade and LeBron James:

Team Usa cruised to a 92-69 victory over Greece in their third preliminary game in the Beijing Olympics. Dwyane Wade’s ball saving alley-oop to Kobe Bryant was the play of the game, which you can see above if YouTube hasn’t pulled the video yet.

The Greeks were supposed to represent Team USA’s first challenge in Beijing. They were for the first quarter, but the American defense and Chris Bosh pushed Team USA to a 19 point halftime lead. The U.S. shot 35 percent from 3-pt. range (7-20) for the game and continued to miss open three point looks. The poor shooting from distance and the occasional lapse in team play were the only negatives for Coach K’s crew. Next up for the Redeem Team are the racist picture posing ballers from Spain.

Team USA basketball got off to a good start in their quest for gold with a 101-70 whooping of host country China. LeBron James tore up the first half while Dwyane Wade was the team’s leading scorer with 19 points. Team USA struggled shooting the ball early but got it going in the second half to cruise to victory.

Yao Ming sprained his ankle in the game but he did return to the game. Before he got hurt he welcomed Kobe Bryant to China:

Team USA defeated Russia 89-68 in their fourth of five Olympic tuneup games. The Russians slowed the game down and, held Team USA to their lowest point total and 29 points below their 118 point average. The bigger story after the game was Jason Kidd not playing in the second half by coach’s decision. I thought J-Kidd was being given a rest, but there are rumblings that say Jason Kidd is the odd man out in the three point guard rotation.
