If I was a huge David Beckham fan my biggest concern would be Cruise luring Becks to Scientology. Beckham has denied that Tom Cruise has tried to recruit him but you know it’s only a matter of time.

Remember when Victoria Beckham was reportedly asking for more than a million bucks in protection money to keep the Mafia from targeting David Beckham while he played for AC Milan? She should have been focused a little closer to home.

The Pizons Posh’s boo needs protection from are none other than the AC Milan coaching staff. From the Mail Online via Deadspin:

During a training session with AC Milan, where he is currently on loan from LA Galaxy, the former England skipper was left gasping for breath and even had to have his pulse checked by a concerned medic.

The father-of-three was left so out of breath that he could barely stand up after taking part in a gruelling training session with his fellow team-mates.

His lacklustre display comes despite AC Milan’s club doctor Jean-Pierre Meerseeman saying earlier this week that the midfielder still had a lot of life left in him as a professional footballer.

Posh was worried about hit men and car bombs when it’s gonna be wind sprints and dribbling drills that take out her husband. In Becks’ defense, he’s still in underwear modeling shape.

The Mail Online goes on to say that Beckham regained his composure and continued to practice but it can’t be long until AC Milan lends him back to the L.A. Galaxy. Dr. Meerseeman must have meant Beckham had a lot of life left in him as an MLS player because his days of playing at a high level against top competition are long gone.

David Beckham of the LA Galaxy and AC Milan (?) is clearing some space in his garage by selling his 2002 Bentley Arnage T. Beckham orginally paid around $295,000 for the vehicle and had $120,000 worth of upgrades added to the car which he is now selling for $157,000 on Auto Trader.

• Polished wheels
• Bespoke cup-holders to both front door pockets
• ‘Le Mans’ style wing vents
• Alpine hi-fi with sub-woofers
• Half wood/half leather steering wheel
• Roof mounted illuminated vanity mirrors to rear compartment

• Diamond cross handles
• Televisions in the rear headrests with bespoke covers

Picnic tables, televisions, and a refrigerator.. Sounds like a luxury RV more than a Bentley. If the Arnage is a little out of your price range you can pick up Wayne Rooney’s 2005 Mercedes G55 AMG for $103,000.

Another sign that the L.A. Galaxy and MLS were put too much stock in an aging David Beckham has been delivered by England coach Fabio Capello. The new man in charge for England made a Mike McCarthy/Ted Thompson like decision by moving Beckham to the bench in favor of young star on the rise Theo Walcott.

It’s usually hard for a superstar player to admit it’s time to move on. Nobody would be shocked if Beckham was pissed about the decision being made for him, but so far Becks is singing the praises of Walcott.

“I’m pleased for Theo and the team and I am happy to be here, but I don’t expect to play in every game. That’s the way it is.

“I was happy to get on in both games and would have liked to play more, but I don’t care whether I play or not. The most important thing is England winning and qualifying for the World Cup.”

Becks sounds good now, but if England’s World Cup chances are hanging in the balance you can believe that David Beckham will want to be on the pitch. Although his game is on the decline Beckham deserves to end his career on the field.

When David Beckham signed to play with the L.A. Galaxy some people believed Becks would bring Americans to soccer. And he did in his first year, but in his second season Beckham is seeing less people in the stands on the road. The Galaxy plays to a packed house at home, but the hopes of the MLS were that Beckham would fill stadiums league wide.

The economy could be a factor although MLB isn’t suffering any attendance problems. It’s more likely that a past his prime David Beckham can’t put the MLS on the map by himself.

There were 21,000 fewer fans in New York to watch Beckham play last weekend against the Red Bulls than a year ago. Last month’s visit to soccer-crazed Washington, D.C., drew about 10,000 fewer fans than the previous year despite the fact the 2007 game was played in a rainstorm.

If the numbers keep falling like this David Beckham won’t want to finish his contract let alone make it to his 100th cap. I can’t blame David Beckham for the MLS hyping him up when his best days were behind him, and I can’t blame Beckham for the league’s lack of other major stars. If the MLS can get 5-10 high profile players in their prime to come to the US and play, then and only then, will the sport move ahead of bass fishing and hotdog eating contest in popularity in the States.

The unveiling of David Beckham’s new underwear poster last week in San Francisco attracted a large audience, and created the buzz Macy’s and Emporio Armani were looking for. I don’t know how much they paid Beckham or how much underwear they sold, but I’m sure the investment is paying off. The English soccer star revealed via his blog that he was shocked by the interest in his billboard.

“To be honest, I was amazed by the huge billboard poster outside Macy’s department store, but even more amazed by the amount of people who turned up to see it! I’m always surprised by the amount of attention certain things create, but the attention this campaign has created is pretty incredible.”

Becks is being humble. He knows he’s an international sex symbol, and I’m sure Macy’s and Emporio Armani told him his piece would be prominently featured on the side of a store. What David should find incredible is the way nobody cares about soccer in America, but they pretend that they do when Beckham’s involved.

A giant billboard of David Beckham posing in Emporio Armani underwear was unveiled in San Francisco and as you can hear the ladies loved it. Of course, it’s San Francisco so you could argue that everybody loved seeing Beck’s package blown up on the side of a Macy’s. Enjoy it girls…

David Beckham’s teammates from the English national squad gave him a golden ipod to mark his 100th cap for England. The gold 32 gigabyte ipod ran the team £600 ($1188) and is sure to be filled with Spice Girls hits. If David Beckham doesn’t wear himself down playing for the L.A. Galaxy and f’n around with Reggie Bush, he hopes to play for England through the 2010 World Cup. That would most likely place him number one on England’s all-time cap list, passing the 125 games played by goalkeeper Peter Shilton.

I’m gonna have to see the commercial, but the Bush/Becks mash-up is off to a slow start in my book. The comraderie seems forced and Beckham’s leprechaun voice is irritating. The two things I did take away from this video, 1) David Beckham makes Reggie Bush look like Earl Campbell, and 2) Women will enjoy the commercial more than men.

I’m sure the first thing 98% (with a sample error of +/- 2%) of you said is “who the hell is Maykel Galindo?” I’m glad you asked.. MG is a striker for USA Chivas in the MLS. He defected from Cuba to the United States in 2005, by himself, without telling his family and friends. I had never heard of Galindo until today, and I’ll admit, the only times I see soccer being played are 1. The World Cup, 2. FIFA on playstation, and 3. If I’m driving by the park in the evening or on a weekend.

Galindo’s hard upbringing in rural, destitute Cuba combined with his fight to make it in the U.S. have helped him to identify with Tony Montana. He doesn’t associate himself with the coked-out murdering Montana but rather the smart, ambitious, ruthless Tony. Maykel sees the film as a “Cuban guy who has to fight to survive”. Yeah.. And Jaws is just about a hungry fish.

I wonder if Galindo goes with Scarface themed trash talking on the field. I would probably die of laughter if I heard Maykel say “Fuck David Beckham and fuck the fuckin’ Freddy Adu. Fuck them all. I’ll bury those cocka-roaches.”
