Mother Nature better watch out. If she makes Serena mad Mother Nature is gonna have a tennis ball forcefully inserted into her body.. Which is how I assumed Serena handled the monthly visit.

Nike had this commercial featuring Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Pete Sampras, Serena Williams, and John McEnroe congratulating Federer on standby.

Pete Sampras is pretty cool about having the record taken. It’s probably easy to since the writing’s been on the wall for a few years. You can knock Federer by saying he got his 15th while Rafael Nadal was out with injury, but Roddick gave Roger everything Rafael would’ve. Number 15 is legit.

Mays is best known for “Oxiclean” although he did do some moonlighting with ESPN.

According to the Asahi wiki page the company has had a few different names over the years, and they employed Hank Aaron as a spokesman in 1990. They currently sponsor the Asahi Soft Drinks Challengers of the X-League, an American football league in Japan. Too bad Tiger’s not working with them anymore. I’d love to hear “From Cypress, California here’s Asahi Soft Drinks Tiger Woods.”

Kevin Garnett generally plays it lowkey and keeps a small tight-knit circle so it’s rare to see The Big Ticket that raw. Garnett is starting to let us into his Official Block Family through a series of NBA 2k9 commercials.

More important than Tiger Woods designing golf courses is that slight limp he’s walking with. Tiger hasn’t ruled out defending his Dubai Classic title in January, so maybe he’s feeling better than he looked.

For over a decade NFL fans have seen commercials featuring star players and their mothers enjoying Chunky Soup. This year will be different. The Campbell Soup company has decided to put their NFL moms campaign to rest.

From The Wall Street Journal:

For the past six years, the company has been running a well-received series of ads for its “Chunky” soup that feature National Football League greats and their mothers calling them inside for dinner and serving them soup.

But starting with this NFL season, those moms will be riding the bench. The reason for the change? Campbell Soup says its new research has revealed that the company’s target consumers — men in their 30s — are finally achieving soup independence.

Campbell Soup has been running commercials of NFL players with their mothers for 11 years with the last six years featuring the players’ real mothers instead of actors. It took them the same amount of time to realize that grown men don’t need their moms serving them soup.

Campbell’s new ads will feature LaDainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers in a series titled “Working Day”. LT gives us a behind the scenes tour of the commercial shoot in this video:
