Hofstra Asst. Football Coach Cheap Shots 57-Year-Old Man

Hofstra Pride Logo

We’ve all seen this type of dude before. Whether you’re in a basketball, softball/hardball, or in this case, a flag football league, there’s always the guy that takes it to far. I’m not talking about a spazz like Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy. I’m talking about a guy that can play a little, but acts like he’s one of the greatest to ever lace ‘em up, like the jackass in The Wedding Crashers. If you’re in the Long Island Arena Touch Football League, Kahmal Roy is the guy I’m describing. Roy’s a 27-year-old Hofstra University assistant football coach, and a sore loser cheap shot artist. Do NBA Players Need To Go To College?

David Stern and LeBron James

To hear the critics tell it, allowing high schoolers into the NBA ruins the league. For some reason, high school basketball players are deemed to be less worthy prepared to deal with professional life than young tennis, hockey, and baseball players. ESPN’s True Hoop author Henry Abott wrote about the issue, and refers to Michael McCann’s paper that refutes the idea of high school players damaging the NBA. Read the full story

BASEBALL PLAYERS LEAD OHIO UNIVERSITY GAMBLING RING

andrewshisila-brentdecoster.jpg

Most people think senior year of college is a pain in the ass. You gotta start planning what you’re gonna do with your life.. Are you gonna try to join the rat race, or are you gonna pursue a higher degree? And of course, how the hell are you gonna pay back your student loans? Andrew Shisila and Brent DeCoster at Ohio University thought they had a loan repayment plan. From The Athens Messenger:

Andrew Shisila, 22, and Brent DeCoster, 22, both of 27 N. Court St., Athens, were charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of gambling, Athens Law Director Patrick Lang announced.

Shisila is a pitcher for the Ohio baseball team. DeCoster is a former Bobcat baseball player who was last a part of the program his freshman year in 2005-06. Both are current Ohio students and listed as seniors.

TAM goes on to report the gambling wasn’t on OU baseball games, or any intercollegiate sports.. These two were simply running a sportsbook for some teammates and friends.. And they would have gotten away with it if not for an anonymous email tip.. Sounds like somebody didn’t want to pay up.

HAVE STRIPPERS BEEN TELLING THE TRUTH?

art-of-pole-dancing.jpg

“I’m just stripping to get through school” is the phrase used by 95% of the female entertainers. The other 5% do it for coke money. Nobody believes a dancer when she says she’s doing it for book money, but “Hannah”, a junior at Texas Tech, is trying to change that.

“My entire freshman year, I was a stripper first and a student second. It was a horrible thing — it’s a hard lifestyle to live. For people with no self control, (stripping) is not a good job.”

Aaah, yes.. Self control. The key component to stripping. Whenever I ask professional women why they chose their field, they never reply “well, I didn’t have enough self control to be a stripper so I ended up in med school.” Never. Also, This just in: I’m ignorant.

“There so much about strippers that people don’t know, lumping everybody into one category is not fair; it’s inaccurate and ignorant. It’s just a supplement to my lifestyle. It’s not who I am, it’s what I do.”

I hear ya baby.. Quick sidenote.. If strippers are really trying to dance their way through college, what else is true? It’s not about the money? He really wants to spend more time with his family? She really don’t be doin this?

CONSUMING WITH Wii

wii-drinking-jumping.jpg

Video games are blamed for turning American kids into fat, lazy, slackers. I don’t know how many hours of my life I lost to Atari, Odyssey, Coleco and Intelli vision, the Commodore 64,
Nintendo, Genesis, Playstations and X-Box, but I do know those systems never got me drunk. The Wii is here to change that.

Video game publisher Midway has a new game coming out for the Wii system. “Party Game” will consist of several games including shuffleboard, darts, and ski ball, but the game that will take over college campuses this fall is Wii beer pong. Or Wii Beirut. Or “Ping Cup” as Midway refers to it:

The object of ping cup is to use the Wii remote to throw a ping-pong ball at a pyramid of cups.

They left off the part about getting hammered drunk… The good thing about the game is it’ll give Greg Oden a chance to work on his beer pong skills. The bad news is, it might put these aspiring entrepreneurs out of business.

**YBB Update** The official name of the game is Game Party .**End Update**
