With so much news about Tiger Woods and his harem of mistresses it’s been easy to miss the story of pound-for-pound boxing champion Manny Pacquiao allegedly cheating on his wife. The Internet and Filipino media say Manny stepped out on wife Jinkee with actress Krista Ranillo. Manny and Ranillo have both denied an affair.

Manny and Krista co-star in the upcoming movie “Wapakman” and are said to have began their relationship on the set. The evidence of an affair lays out in a Tiger Woodsly fashion:

*Manny and Krista allegedly took the same flight to Hong Kong in September.
*Manny and a woman covering her face drove away in Manny’s Benz after his November Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance.
*Krista’s family stayed at the Luxor Hotel where Manny and his entourage also stayed for his fight with Miguel Cotto.

GMA News went into depth about the Pacquiao-Ranillo affair a week before Tiger Woods’ car accident and subsequent fallout. Tiger’s cats got out of the bag just in time to save the pound-for-pound champion and darling of boxing Manny Pacquiao from a mini-scandal.

The latest allegations of Pacquiao’s infidelities come on the heels of a 2008 photo of Manny dancing closely with an unknown woman, a 2007 rumored fling with actress Ara Mina, and his 2006 admission to an affair with Joanna Rose Bascoa, with whom he allegedly has a child.

The Filipino media has been all over the story. This video shows Manny’s wife Jinkee crying at a Thanksgiving weekend mass reportedly because of rumors Manny had visited Krista’s hotel room before his fight with Miguel Cotto.

This next video reports that Pacquiao gave wife Jinkee a five-carat diamond ring to ask for her forgiveness. He’s been studying Kobe Bryant.

Even if Tiger wasn’t hogging the headlines this wouldn’t cause too many problems for Manny Pacquiao. He is boxing’s premiere attraction but he’s not well enough known overall. Tiger Woods’ name rings bells with all walks of life around the world and his well constructed “Good Guy” image helped create his empire.

Tiger Woods has released a statement regarding cheating on his wife Elin just as US Magazine posted an incriminating Tiger voicemail and Life & Style introduces us to third Tiger mistress Kalika Moquin. Maybe it was her that Tiger was snuggling with at a Las Vegas club in October.

Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

So the Florida Highway Patrol has closed their case but we can kind of pick out what happened. Tiger and Elin argued on Thanksgiving night/early Friday morning and Tiger tried to leave but crashed his car. Then he and Elin went into spin and denial mode only to have most of the rumors and allegations become true. He’s still the best golfer in the world, but now he’s made himself the butt of jokes for years to come.

How did Boras do it?I don’t know.. But I do know one of the tactics that Boras used. He, well his staff at the Scott Boras Corporation, put together a sharp blue binder full of Alex Rodriguez stats and mailed it to every team in MLB. The book is full of statistical breakdowns and projections for A-Rod against current (2000) and former ball players.

There are pages and pages like this, mixed in with quotes from guys like Larry Bowa and Dusty Baker. All of it was done to celebrate the greatness that is Alex Rodriguez. Funny how times change.. Fast forward 7 years, Alex has a bigger contract but Boras almost blew it, and now they don’t speak.
