A couple of weeks ago Brett Favre sent text messages to his Minnesota Vikings teammates to say that he was trading in his cleats for Wranglers for good. Everybody knows what’s happened since then.

Stephen Colbert bid Favre farewell after the last retirement news but added that he would stab Brett in the eye with a broken broom handle if he returned to football. Now that Favre’s back Colbert is looking to make good on his threat.

Brett Favre has decided to play with the Vikings in the 2010-11 NFL season and is currently on a plane to Minnesota to join his teammates reports Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. 2010 will be Favre’s 20th season of action and probably his last. Until this time next year.

Jenn Sterger claims Brett Favre texted her pictures of his lil gunslinger while both were employed by the New York Jets. Pictures supporting Sterger’s story are yet to surface but Youtube user BradyFan83 came up with a song that explains the whole ordeal. “See My Dong” is set to Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” and it’s awesome. Unless you’re Brett Favre. Then it’s f’d up.

A Brett Favre Musical Tribute: “See My Dong” [Deadspin]

Brett Favre spoke to ESPN’s Ed Werder today and said he will play if healthy. He also denied sending text messages to his Minnesota Vikings teammates informing them that he was retiring from football. Of course he didn’t.

What was missing from Favre’s talk with Werder was any mention of the Deadspin story that reports Favre sending pictures of his junk to Jenn Sterger when both were employed by the New York Jets. According to Deadspin, Jenn was initially reluctant to go public with the Favre story, choosing instead to use the pictures as conversation starters with guests at her home. Now she’s talking and it’s only a matter of time before AJ and the crew get the (oh boy) hard evidence. I didn’t know this is what Brett was talking about when he sang “Pants on the Ground” in the Vikes locker room.

‘Brett Favre Once Sent Me Cock Shots’: Not A Love Story [Deadspin]

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is reportedly telling teammates via text message that he is retiring from football. The retirement is Favre’s third and pushes Tarvaris Jackson into the starting job. Neither Favre, his agent Bus Cook, or the Vikings have confirmed the story but head coach Brad Childress is going to address the media at 11:30 central.

Even if Favre retires today I won’t believe it until he turns in the paperwork with the league. His ankle might not be up to the task today but give it a couple of more months, and an injury to Jackson, and Brett Favre will be playing again.

“The Peninsula” is Qatar’s self-proclaimed “leading English daily” and I’m sure it’s a fine paper, but they’re either unfamiliar with Brett Favre or their sports editor is a Packers fan. The paper previewed the upcoming Laureus World Sports Awards which they call the Sports Oscars. Kevin Spacey is hosting the event, and I’m pulling for Jessica Favre in the World Comeback of the Year category .

Stage set for Laureus award [The Peninsula]

Brett Favre hasn’t made his play or not to play decision public yet but he did release these photos of his bruised body following the Vikings NFC Championship game loss to the New Orleans Saints. After seeing the pics you’d think it would be easy for Brett to walk away.

Hyundai is making a prediction of Favre’s future via a Super Bowl commercial. They’re forecasting 10 long years for Fran Tarkenton.

Brett should play one more year or until the Vikings find somebody they’re confident handing the keys to once Favre hangs them up for good.

“Pants on the Ground” by General Larry Platt is one of the worst songs you’ll ever hear but as it did with William Hung American Idol has made a star out of the man. Platt’s song landed him on The View and made its way into the Minnesota Vikings locker room via Percy Harvin and Brett Favre.

The phrase “A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do” applies to taking a leak on the side of a building, hooking up with a Brooke Hundleyesque chick at the club, and spending the power bill money on new J’s. In the case of Alex Rodriguez and Brett Favre it means blowing your nose on national televison. Both came up big for their teams on Sunday and both gave the viewers at home something to enjoy.

Gilbert Brown said he would fart on Brett Favre if given the chance but it was Favre that crapped all over the Packers and their fans Sunday.
