Ever since the Los Angeles Clippers won the literal lottery and drafted Blake Griffin, fans across the NBA have been treated to an array of jaw-dropping dunks and athleticism.

He’s already dunked the ball more than 150 times and has taken ESPN’S SportCenter, YouTube and the world by storm with compilations of his dunking prowess. He proved he earned the crown as the league’s best dunker during this year’s All-Star game, where he dunked over a car to win the 2011 Slam Dunk contest.

Many would consider him a dunking god for the move, which seemingly couldn’t be topped. Until now.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Blake Griffin Jr., a teenager who can dunk over not one or two cars, but three.

Before tonight’s ugly 106-88 loss against the Chicago Bulls, I had planned for this “Diary of a Los Angeles Clippers Fan” to focus on all the great things that have been happening for the Los Angeles Clippers, even in the face of tough injuries.

While I was thoroughly frustrated with the poor defense and inability to finish at the rim from many Clippers, I decided to overcome my immediate negative reactions and instead stick with my original feelings. Those of course, are that the Clippers have been playing extremely well (especially at home) and have literally become one of the most exciting teams to watch.

It might seem repetitive for me to keep saying that in the last several of these stories, but it’s the truth. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are abusing rims across the league and creating new ways to wow us all with their athleticism and talent.

Blake’s shown great instincts, patience and maturity not often seen in rookies, especially one drafted by a franchise as cursed as the Clippers who also had to deal with a terrible injury to start his career. He’s absolutely putting on shows in every game and in more ways than just dunking.

He put up 32 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists tonight against the Bulls, following a January that saw him average 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists per game. While the dunks get a lion’s share of the attention, he’s a very well-rounded player who contributes through various moves and categories.

All that extra stuff gets stat geeks/sports snobs like me excited, but I still realize what draws the average person in; monster dunks. So here’s a few of Blake’s most recent shows, including a posterization of the Bulls Kyle Korver tonight that even got ESPN’s Sports Guy Bill Simmons up and out of his seat.

If you think that was an impressive alley-oop, check out the one he completed from a pass that came from way beyond half-court, via Randy Foye.

It’s an amazing play for so many reasons. First because of how far it was thrown from, nearly 60-feet, but also because if you watch it again you can see that Blake is at the Milwaukee Bucks three-point line when Foye initially catches the pass off the rebound. He sprints down the court so fast that he’s at the rim before Foye can even get close to center court.

During that same game against the Bucks he also gave fans a tease of things to come in the NBA Slam Dunk contest later this month when he got the ball all alone on a break away and threw down a windmill dunk.

He’s truly been a franchise-changer so far for the Clippers, bringing them out from the depths of ridicule and losing to the front of national highlights and All-Star discussions. There’s overwhelming sentiment across the NBA that he deserves to be an All-Star and it’s highly likely that he’ll be named a reserve when the announcements are made tomorrow. ESPN’s Arash Markazi laid out some strong points as to why he’s deserving of the honor.

In addition to his possible selection as an All-Star, he’s been chosen to help headline the Rookie Challenge during All-Star weekend and will of course be the favorite in the slam dunk competition. Not to be outdone, DeAndre Jordan stepped up in the Milwaukee game with an aerial assault of his own, including what may have been the best dunk of the night when he absolutely beasted on the Bucks Jon Brockman. Take a look.

Talk about a poster! Poor Brockman had to grab onto Jordan’s jersey just to try and avoid falling after the ferocious finish. Even with tonight’s loss, which ended their Los Angeles team record nine-game winning streak, the team has plenty to be proud of.

They’re competing every game, gaining new fans and earning hard-fought wins. With leading scorer Eric Gordon reportedly available to come back sooner than the initially diagnosed three to four weeks, the dreaded 11-game road trip they’re about to embark on may not be so bad after all.

Los Angeles Clippers rookie phenom Blake Griffin has been wowing NBA fans all year with his great dunking and outlandish leaping ability. He’s quickly accomplishing a feat many thought to be impossible; changing the Clippers image for the better.

Just 41 games into his rookie campaign, he’s attempting and finishing plays few would expect from a first-year player, making him a must-see attraction for fans across the world. He lived up to those high expectations again tonight in a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves by attacking the lane, throwing a pass off the backboard to himself and finishing with a slam dunk. Plays like that are exactly why there’s such a hype building around him. It’s only bound to get bigger too, with his participation in this year’s All-Star Slam Dunk contest in February sure to win over even more new fans and with the team playing so much better. Life for a Los Angeles Clippers is far from easy. We’ve been stuck in losing/rebuilding/praying for a better day mode since 1984, when the franchise came to Los Angeles. Along the way we’ve drafted guys like Benoit Benjamin, Michael Olowakandi and Yaroslav Korolev during the lottery. Yeah, not exactly superstar name recognition.

In other words, things never go right. When the team drafted college basketball phenom Blake Griffin in last year’s draft it seemed like there was a chance for excitement again in Clipper Nation. Then he got hurt and missed his entire first season. Typical right? Wrong. He rehabbed and healed and has came into the new season to show off his exquisitely powerful dunking skills.

If you don’t believe me just check out some ridiculous highlights of his from tonight’s game against the New York Knicks.

Yeah, they lost 124-115 but it wasn’t Blake’s fault. He finished with 44 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Talk about wowing the crowd. Even a perennial All-Star like Amare Stoudemire had to give him his props during the game, peep.

It’s the second time this young season that he’s been among the top 10 trending topics on Twitter, with fans across the NBA commenting on how great he’s playing. He also got some love on Slam Online, which has individual videos of each of the three dunks.

Sadly the loss dropped the Clippers to 1-13 on the season, which I’ll discuss more in next week’s “Diary of a Los Angeles Clippers Fan”. Hopefully they’ll have a few more wins by then.

The Los Angeles Clippers made their 2010-2011 NBA season debut tonight against the Portland Trailblazers, which also marked the first career game of last year’s number one overall draft pick Blake Griffin.

Blake is known to be extremely gifted athletically and he quieted any initial fears about how he’d recover from last year’s knee injury and subsequent surgery by scoring his first NBA points on a one-handed slam dunk and then adding several more.

He finished the game with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists, including 9 offensive boards, but the Clipper still lost 98-88. Story of my life, so whatever.

By notching a double-double (at least 10 points & 10 rebounds) he became just the fifth top pick in the last 20 years to do so, joining Derrick Coleman, Shaquille O’Neal, Tim Duncan and Dwight Howard.

Despite the loss, the Clippers showed some promising signs with great effort from Blake, DeAndre Jordan and more. For all my fellow citizens of Clipper Nation, it gives us at least a little excitement to look forward to. Speaking of that, my “Diary of a Los Angeles Clippers Fan” column will return to its weekly publication starting next Wednesday, so keep an eye out for that if you love pain and suffering like most of us Clips fans seem to.

Blake Griffin played like an overall number one pick in his NBA debut. Granted it was a game in the Las Vegas Summer League, but he would’ve gotten crushed if he looked weak so props where props are due. After the game Griffin got on the Clippers‘ team bus and gave an interview to DeAndre Jordan.

It felt like a college game kinda. I don’t feel like it was that much different.

The game felt like a college game to Griffin because he put up numbers like he was still in school. Twenty-seven points, and 12 boards is beastin’, even if it was against a bunch of Fakers.

And it’s good to see Blake Griffin keeping “No Homo” alive. He used “Pause” ( || ) at the 1:27 mark of the video and cracked himself up. Gus Johnson is somewhere smiling.

If past performance is indicative of future results Blake Griffin is screwed. The Los Angeles Clippers are the Bermuda Triangle of NBA franchises, and their selection of Griffin with the overall number one pick in June’s NBA Draft guarantees Blake’s career will disappear. It might be injuries, it might be management, but something is gonna go wrong with his career. It’s physics.

Before Blake Griffin’s future was ruined by the Clipper Curse, the 6-foot-8-inch power forward battled 6-foot-4-inch guard Willie Warren in a dunk contest at an OU practice. I apologize in advance for the short, grainy videos.

It’s close but I say Willie Warren won. He’s four inches shorter, making his dunks look a little more impressive. Griffin shouldn’t hang his head about the loss. It’s not like the time he lost to Jared from Subway in H-O-R-S-E.

The Subway sandwich franchise has embraced the sports as fast-food restaurants tend to do. Except they’re not selling team oriented cups or value meals; they’re hiring the sports figures to push their products. We’ve seen pitchman Jared Fogle team up with Reggie Bush, and Michael Strahan, and Subway sponsors the Sports Guy’s podcast on ESPN.

Jared’s newest running mate is the 2009 number one overall pick Blake Griffin. I posted the video of Jared and Blake shooting it out S-U-B-W-A-Y style yesterday, but here’s the less New Yorkcentric remix.

Jared shoots better than I thought he could. He still shouldn’t be able to beat Blake Griffin in a shooting contest. Enjoy every second you can Mr. Griffin because as Bill Simmons lays out, you’re life is about to take on the Clipper Curse.

Blake Griffin will be the number one overall pick of the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, an honor that has only been bestowed upon Danny Manning and Michael Olowokandi.

Before joining the lovable, dysfunctional Clipper family, Griffin took on Jared Fogle in a game of S-U-B-W-A-Y at The Cage in New York.

According to Jared he beat Blake Griffin in the first game which is probably what led to Griffin dunking.. Against Jared from Subway.. Congratulations Clippers. Your draft pick can’t beat a former fat guy in Horse.

The Los Angeles Clippers won the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday evening, a feat the franchise has accomplished three times since 1988. LA’s other team selected Danny Manning first overall in 1988, and Michael Olowokandi first in 1998. Is Blake Griffin going to be their 2009 selection?

The mock drafts have Blake Griffin going first overall. Too bad for him. Things don’t go well for people once they put on the red, white, and blue of the Clippers. Danny Manning was plagued by knee injuries, Olowokandi washed out of the league, and I don’t want to think about what happened to Shaun Livingston.

Good luck to young Mr. Griffin. He’s gonna need it.
