Tiger Woods doesn’t mess around with politics or anything of significance for that matter but he turned out for Barack Obama’s inauguration celebration. His speech didn’t blow minds but it was still good to see T-Dub showing support in his way.

And finally here’s Jay-Z, who rides for Barack even though he’s not a politician. Jay goes in, live, on Young Jeezy’s “My President is Black.”

The latest issue of ESPN the Magazine hits newsstands Friday and will feature Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain in the 0.01 section going head-to-head in football uniforms. Obama is decked out in Chicago Bears gear while McCain wears the uniform of his home state Arizona Cardinals. Charles Gibson is going to referee the game although the McCain camp wanted the Bill O’Reilly-Sean Hannity crew and Barack’s side was hoping for Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews. Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden should work on his broadcasting skills so he can do the highlights with Sarah Palin after the game.

Barry Bonds is spending his time away from baseball posing for pictures with Gavin Maloof, supporting Barack Obama, and being stalked by Jim Gray. I can only assume Gray is trying to snuggle up to Bonds since Ric Bucher stole Kobe Bryant from him. Somebody might wanna let Jim know that Barry’s not playing anymore.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain aren’t missing a chance to promote themselves in their quest for the presidency. Hillary’s been out drinking, Barack’s been doing something he calls bowling, and John McCain… He’s sitting back waiting for his chance to sling mud at one of the two.

The candidates set out to prove they’re not your grandfather’s candidates by doing some funny terrible WWE impressions. I thought Hill-Rod, Obama, and McCain would come across more naturally since Washington is like professional wrestling.. With a lot less steroids and way more hookers.

You’re rolling the dice by asking rapper Rick Ross questions other than his name or directions to the jeweler. Fast forward to the 1:12 mark where Ross says it’s ok for Barack Obama to get serviced while he’s on the road and away from his wife. From there the Miami based rapper moves on to HGH.

What’s wrong with a little HGH? You’re 35 years old, let’s take Shaq for instance. That’s my best friend. His hip, his knee,.. He’s 30 something years, jumpin up and down. What’s wrong with a little HGH?

C’mon, yall know Mark McGuire was only hitting 15 home runs a year then overnight they went to 60 a season.. But he did it for the game. I stopped watching baseball til HGH came back. Is Rick implicating Shaq or just using him as an example? I couldn’t quite tell.. And of course Roger Clemens is a hero to Rick Ross. Clemens lives the life that Ross raps about. Clemens is caught up in the drug game, surrounded by haters and snitches, and getting sweated by the feds. Rick probably has a picture of Roger Clemens hanging between his Scarface movie poster and a picture of the real Freeway Ricky Ross.

It’s hard to get Tiger Woods to speak out on social issues. I’m not saying he needs to become Muhammad Ali, or even Etan Thomas, but a socially conscious opinion or two from one of the world’s most recognizable athletes isn’t asking for much. It’s not important that he speaks on every Don Imus or Jena 6 situation. However, I would expect him to have some thoughts on a story that directly relates to him.

Knowing that Tiger doesn’t like to offend people, seeking his political inclinations would seem like a waste of time. Well… Eldrich is in the Middle East for the Dubai Desert Classic where a reporter asked for his opinion of Barack Obama:

“I’ve seen him speak. He’s extremely articulate, very thoughtful. I’m just impressed at how well, basically all politicians really do, how well they think on their feet. Especially those debates. It’s pretty phenomenal to see them get their point across. But I just think that he’s really inspired a bunch of people in our country and we’ll see what happens down the road.”

You didn’t think you would get a straight answer from Tiger did you? He likes the politicians because he talks like the politicians. A lot of words without saying anything.. And articulate?!?! Tiger Woods called Barack Obama articulate?!? Where’s the D.R.O.P. Squad when you need ‘em?

With the World Series of Beer Pong wrapping up, and Black History Month a few weeks away, it’s time to pay homage to a pioneer. Justin Williams, aka J-Murdah, bka The First Black Beer Pong Player, has opened doors for people like Barack Obama and me. It takes a great man to fight injustice alone.. I can only hope to be half as brave as Justin Williams.

No longer do brothas have to stay home, huddled around a Wii to play beer pong. We can bounce balls into cups in public like the white man. We will still have to find our Larry Bird or Steve Nash to their Lebron James, but at least we’re in the game. The only controversy that remains is whether the Beer Pong Hall of Fame will include J-Murdah’s stats from the Negro Pong leagues. They should, it’s the right thing to do.
