The passing of Michael Jackson came as a surprise and touched people around the world. Folks are still mourning his death. I’ve talked about Mike Jack’s connection to the sports world through Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and the NFL. In this video Michael sings the National Anthem as a member of The Jackson 5 before Game 1 of the 1970 Baltimore-Cincinnati World Series.

Jeezus Christ.. HD was terrible in 1970. Michael could still sing though. R.I.P. King.

If you owe the Wynn Las Vegas money you should go ahead and pay up before they take you to court. The casino that filed a lawsuit against Charles Barkley last month for an unpaid $400,000 gambling debt is now suing the NBA and Alonzo Mourning.

Wynn Las Vegas claims NBA Entertainment, NBA Properties and co-defendant Alonzo Mourning Charities have failed to pay a $50,000 bill for convention and meeting space and related services used during the 2007 NBA All-Star weekend.

It’s probably an oversight on the league’s and Zo’s part but still, they better straighten this out before the Wynn says forget the lawyers and sends out their “collection team”. I’d hate to hear about David Stern and Alonzo Mourning last being seen driven into a cornfield.

I had no idea that beer pong or Beirut was such a big deal to so many people. I thought it was something you do in college and eventually grow out of. I was wrong. Brian Foley, of The College Baseball Blog, passed along this World Series of Beer Pong press release. I was interested from the start.

Sign ups begin this week for the third annual World Series of Beer Pong (WSOBP), a three-day competitive beer pong extravaganza with a $50,000 Grand Prize—the largest prize in the history of beer pong. This year’s event will be held January 1 – 5, 2008 at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada.

$50k to drink beer and bounce balls in cups.. In Vegas. I might need to put together my own team… Email me if you’re down.. If you thought beer pong was just about getting drunk, you’re right, but you’re wrong. WSOBP co-founder Billy Gaines:
