BEING BUSY IS NOT THE BIZNESS
January 18th, 2007 | by HG |My apologies for not keeping up with my writing duties. I’ve been down at the local park doing some work. Actually, I’ve been working on my pitching. I’m gonna try and get some of this baseball money that’s flying around. No I’ve never pitched before in my life so I figure I’ll only make about 500k. It sucks but I guess I’ll take it.
Mary Schottenheimer will be back with the San Diego Chargers next year. Marty turned down the one year extension offered by the team (for’008), but at least he gets to make one more run at the title. I understand this from Marty’s pov, but I’m not sure what the Chargers were thinking. A one year contract extension basically would have put the team and Schottenheimer back in the situation they were trying to get past. Marty turned down the deal and slightly tilted the leverage in his favor. The team can either come to him with a long term deal, or Schottenheimer takes his great regular season terrible post season coaching act to another city.
Michael Vick is getting off on the wrong foot with new head coach Bobby Petrino. Vick was involved in a small incident at the Miami airport. Michael apparently wouldn’t give up his water bottle before boarding a plane. He left the bottle at the airport and it ended up in police hands. Turns out the water bottle had a secret compartment that smelled like weed. OOooWEeee
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kiz44sqR3SY]The Pacers and Warriors traded a bunch of players. Most notably Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy Jr. head east while Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson move to Oakland. Stephen Jackson. In Oakland. OK… Somebody let Six Shot Jackson know that they go hella dumb(nsfw) in the Yay. Leave your heat at home. I could argue either way about who won the trade but I won’t. I will say Al Harrington is the best player in the deal.
