**YBB UPDATE: THE XAVIER MCDANIEL JR. THAT WAS KILLED IS NOT THE SON OF FORMER NBA PLAYER XAVIER MCDANIEL. Xavier McDaniel does have a son, and his name is Xavier McDaniel Jr., but he is alive by all accounts. If you read that Fennis Dembo Jr. has been killed, don’t rush to any judgements. Apologies to all that this may have affected, including www.thebiglead.com and www.deadspin.com** END UPDATE
A 26 year old man is being held for the murder of Xavier McDaniel Jr. On April 3rd, Xavier Jr. was found in his car, shot in the chest. He was taken to the hospital but died a short time later. The suspect, Omari Lee was arrested recently when he went to an Albany area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
I can’t imagine the pain a parent feels when a child is lost. It’s amazing that Xavier McDaniel Sr. can handle this so well:
“It has an opportunity to give us some closure, but we don’t know what’s going to happen. I always said it (an arrest) would happen in God’s time. It’s not that we win as a direct result of this because this is another young man’s life lost. I hope the young man gets a chance for some spiritual enlightenment throughout this.”
Thoughts and prayers go out to the McDaniel family. Hopefully justice will be served.

Xavier McDanile Jr. is my cousin. He is not the NBA basketball player that many know about. As a family we are happy to be able to begin the process of closure. His father Xavier Sr. is a very strong, God fearing man. I saw his strength and composure at Xavier’s funeral and through out the years.
We all love and miss my cousin very much.
We will see you in heaven Xavier. XOXO

Listen if Xavier McDaniel was just the greatest basketball star why was he mixed up in DRUGS and GUNS and GANGS. I love that they leave this information out. He should not have been doing these bad things and he would still be alive today. So i dont feel bad for a passing of a drug dealer and GOD has control over the situation when your time is up, YOUR time is up. GOD is cleaning our streets up.
