Most athletes are terrible rappers but that doesn't keep them from trying
There's a problem plaguing the sports blog community that must be addressed.
Rich Eisen of the NFL Network either had his Twitter account hacked or he’s letting it all hangout with his 140 characters. Continue Reading
I’m a big fan of athletes being on Facebook, Twitter, or any means of direct communication with their fans. They can give ESPN and beat writers the cookie cutter answers, and then open up in the privacy of the social media site of their choosing. But this isn’t always a good thing.
Take Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett. Marty B has had ups and downs with YouTube. He got in trouble for his Cowboys Rap, but has bounced back nicely with a Cap’n Crunch Rap. Until Now.
Marty B’s latest offering is titled “The Black Olympics” and features him and his brother Michael of the Seattle Seahawks. The video sets black YouTube users back 1000 years. Continue Reading
Jordan Crawford became an instant legend by doing something few people witnessed: Dunking on LeBron James. Crawford spoke to reporters about the dunk that Nike blocked, and said he’ll be bragging about it when he gets back to Xavier. Continue Reading
David Beckham and Tom Cruise are well-known BFFs, so much so that the new book, “The Beckham Experiment”, dedicates a chapter to their bromance. The book says Cruise has influenced every major Beckham decision since 2003 which I find hard to believe. That would be like Michael Jackson being one of the most influential people in Magic Johnson’s life..Bad example. Continue Reading
Miami rapper Rick Ross or the “Bawse” as his fans call him, recently hit up a Dodgers game in Los Angeles after filming a rap video with California rap OG Mack 10. It was only fitting that Ross (born William Leonard Roberts II) visit the city that was home to Freeway Ricky Ross, the infamous drug kingpin behind his rap name. Continue Reading
LeBron James got dunked on by sophomore Jordan Crawford from Xavier, but the video will probably never see the light of day. Nike black suits snatched all the tapes at the LeBron James Skills Academy that featured the now legendary dunk. Nike should go ahead and release the video because the fallout from TapeGate has been worse than anything we would’ve seen. In the meantime we’ll have to settle for a “LeBron James Gets Dunked On” compilation video. Continue Reading
Michael Phelps won the 200 freestyle and 200 butterfly at the U.S. national championships in Indianapolis, securing himself a spot at the world championships in Rome later this month. After winning the freestyle Phelps spoke to Summer Sanders and made a joke at his own expense. Continue Reading
The Nashville police have ruled the deaths of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi a murder-suicide. Kazemi was distraught over the path her life was taking and turned to the most extreme solution.
Days before the shooting Kazemi was cited for DUI in a Cadillac Escalade that was registered to her and McNair. Here is the video from the arrest. Continue Reading
Ron Artest officially signed with the Los Angeles Lakers and at his press conference he was in full Ron-Ron mode. He talked about hoodalizing ESPN and the Lakers, why he chose number 37, and how he’s underpaid but doesn’t mind. Press play and enjoy. Continue Reading
By now you’ve all heard the news. Nike, the sneaker snazis, have confiscated all videos of LeBron James being dunked on by college student Jordan Crawford. The slam took place at the LeBron James Skills Academy where I can only assume Xavier’s Crawford scored high marks for dunking.
Gary Parrish broke the story on CBS Sports, and he joined Hartman and Myers on Fox Sports Radio to talk about the incident. Parrish told the show LeBron was willing to talk about the dunk last night, but Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt came over and said LeBron will be answering no questions. Why the cover up? Continue Reading
